Hi guys!

I’ve been offered this 2910-1sc locally and found it quite fascinating in hand (the pictures didn’t convince me at first but they don’t do it justice). It’s a 15.3M, so from the mid 50’
The case shape looks amazing IMO and the honeycomb dial/golden 369 indexes combo is quite nice although heavily patinated…
Any thoughts on this one? Does it look original? Is that combo rare?
Thanks! 😀

Also, what I really love about it is the case shape…Could anyone point me out to what references have one line this?
Thanks again!

Case looks pretty good. Bevels still visible. Not familiar with the reference so can't comment on price unfortunately.

You’re right, the case has that distinctive unpolished feeling although it has had a busy life 😁

I’m wondering if we might be looking at a “yellowed” crystal? That’s $785.00 (Canadian). I see rust on some screw heads, and the ratchet wheel screw appears to be non-original. So if you buy it, it will need to be gone through. Add a service to the purchase price and decide if you are comfortable with it.

With a waffle/textured dial I would say it's a nice bargain at that price.

What do you mean by « yellowed » crystal? I think the yellow hue definitely comes from the lighting at the time of the pictures…Here is one with more natural light by the way, the dial seems kind of dirty…Is it somewhat « cleanable » without deteriorating anything? 😀

Acrylic, isinglass, plastic, who knows what the crystal in the watch is made of? Some types of plastic turn yellow! Is that difficult for you to understand? I doubt you will be able to “clean” the dial. Whatever the finish is, it has yellowed with age.

Well, the way you said it, I figured « yellow crystal » was something specific (origin, era, replacement or whatever…). If it’s just aging, yeah, I understand 😁

To some, the word “yellowed” might imply a change to a noticeable yellower colour from the original colour.
