Thoughts on Baume & Mercier Clifton Moonphase?

I have an opportunity to pick up a Clifton reference 10055 triple date moonphase at a very attractive price from a seller who bought the watch and then changed his mind. Anyone have a similar reference or who can offer an opinion about the brand generally and this particular model? The movement is a Sellita SW 300 (automatic winding, 25 jewels and a 42 hour power reserve) with a Dubois Dépraz 9000 calendar module added. Just wondering if the added module presents any servicing issues. All comments appreciated. Thanks.

I love this one. It is on the list of my "want to buy" watch. I have B&M Capeland, fantastic watch. I would like to add this dual time one at some point too. Poor man's Reverso. There is only one thing about them - I wouldn't pay MSRP for them.

It's down to the Clifton or a JLC Master Thin Ultra Moon. Big difference in prestige (and price!). The JLC is, of course, a JLC, but I must admit that the Clifton is very tempting.

If you are buying the watch to enjoy, with no expectation of resale, you should buy whichever speaks to you more. If resale is a consideration, the JLC, particulary if bought preowned, is going to hold its value much better.

i also have a couple of MUTs (not the moon though). And i think the JLC trounces the B+M.

Given that the JLC retails for twice as much as the B&M, I would hope so!
