This Movement Legitimate or Fake?

This is a Montblanc 24.26 movement. I can't find a pic of another MB 24.26 to compare. It looks a little too rough to me compared to other MB movements I've seen but I don't have experience with MB movements so I don't want to jump to conclusions . Your input is appreciated.

It's a Sellita SW200-1 which is used in many watches. Not all MBs were the pinnacle of haute horlogerie.

The base caliber is also used in another well know brand.

From "WatchBase", another MB variation (24.17) on the SW200.

I'm not sure why the rotor is marked 24.26 馃槖.

Have you got pics of the rest of the watch?

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, WatchBase has no info on the Sellita-based MB 24.26 but every picture of a Montblanc branded movement shows very sharp lettering and a smooth inset on the Montblanc engraving. Even the IWC movement posted above shows sharp lettering that appears laser-engraved, opposed to the rough, irregular lettering on my pics that appear to be stamped and engraved.

For example, here's a pic of a MB 24.17 movement. The lettering looks sharp and smooth, not jagged and engraved like on my pics. On most other pics, the gold inset on the MB lettering is even smoother. Nevertheless, think there's nothing to be concerned about?

Here's a pic of the watch. It's a Heritage Automatic, reference 119944. I believe it was produced between 2018-2020. On the MB site, the main description says it's a MB 24.27 movement, but when you look at the movement details, it says 24.26. It is definitely Sellita based although I read somewhere that the MB 24.26 is a Sellita SW240. Unfortunately, I can't find additional information.

Faking a Sellita movement?

I wasn't worried about the Sellita movement being fake. It was whether the Montblanc branding being faked or Frankensteined.

Regardless, this is no longer an issue for me.

Did you end up returning the watch?

Yes, I returned it. Then I found it new with full warranty for the same price. I already received it and loving it.

Did you open up the new one to see if the movement looked the same as the other one you had?

No, I didn't. I got it from a legit seller and it's brand new, so I don't want nor do I have a need to risk damaging it like someone did with the other one
