As you know, I am not a Rolex person, but stumbled across this on the Bay and thought you might find it:
- amusing (assuming it is BS); or
- fascinating (if it is real)

The seller might have inadvertently forgotten to add this provenance: The late Hans Wilsdorf (RIP) wore this watch, till the day he died in 1960.

Thank-you.

Thankfully he does not ship to the UK. Otherwise, I'd be very tempted to sell all my possessions and remortgage my house…

Why not take the first flight to the US?

Thank-you.

Gee - I have an old Rolex silver trench watch, marked W&D for Wilsdorf & Davis, and hallmarked Glasgow, 1914. 15 jewel Rebberg movement by Aegler. (Ebay offer probably has the inferior 7j movement). Presented in Oz in Dec. 1915 to a poor sod of a 24 yr old coal miner who enlisted just in time to ship off to the Somme offensive. He was blown to bits in August of 1916, along with 20,000 other Aussies. I wear the watch on days like Nov. 11 (WW1 Armistice), April 9 (Battle of Vimy Ridge), June 6 (D-Day), and of course today (remember Pearl Harbor). But I'm thinking - heck I'd take a mere quarter-million for it!

I think he forgot to add that it used to be owned by Hanibal Lechter.
