Thinking of getting a Rolex.

I must confess I have some time thinking of buying my first Rolex. I have demotivated a little with this price spike in the pandemic.

I have considered the Oyster Perpetual 39mm 36mm and datejust 41mm. Also Explorers have como to mind.
Find the 39mm nice but maybe too simple as it doesnt have cyclops or anything at all in dial.
The 36mm is the best in terms of price but myself being 200lbs 6'0 7.5 wrist looks a little small.
Datejust 41 are the most that attract me but price has rised like 15%.
What you guys recommend or do you know good sellers? Watch can be in mint condition. Preferably below $8000

Check Rolex Forums and go try some on. Here are a few seller recommendations:

Bernard Watch Co
Jacek @ Tropical Watch
RF seller DavidSW
RF seller Ponycar350 - Jared

These are just a few, there are many more great sellers!

You look more like a submariner type of guy to me ... what about something like this, and it's less than 8K.

Or have you considered getting an older model?

I have purchased watches from both, and they are trustworthy. Obviously best deal will be from a private party.

I'm partial to a DJ because of my line of work, that said, if you bounce between business and casual I think explorer is pretty versatile, can go up and down and gets respect from pretty much anyone.

Sounds like your after a datejust 41, so you may as well just chase one down

If I were you, I'd go for the OP 36. One of the purest expressions of the Rolex ethos. The slightly smaller size gives it an understated look, which in my view adds to its appeal. However, I openly admit my bias, since I'm on the hunt for one myself.

The detail is that I am 6'0 200lbs and 7.5" wrist.

Ah, yes ... I'm 5' 10", 170, and a 6.25" wrist. A bit different, then.

So ... how's a Datejust 41 sound? 😗😁

Those are gorgeous as well. I'm partial to the silver dial with yellow gold hands and markers - stunning.

I agree with what @flw said in terms of what the OP expresses. That said, I'm a similar frame at 6'0, 185lbs and 7.25" wrist, and I find 36mm can be just a tad too small for my personal taste. You might be served well to look up in size to what is now an old 39 mm, or the 41 mm.

In that line of thought I like the sunburst dial one. Also curious about if the 39mm is going to fall in price.

I wish more of the colors were sunburst rather than flat. A green sunburst OP would have been great. Doubt the outgoing OP will fall much in price... discontinued in the land of Rolex often (but not always) means things get more expensive not less. I think this would be particularly true of colors no longer available such as White & Rhodium which were two of the nicer (as well as versatile/neutral) ones.
