Thinking about adding gold.

I´m starting to feel the need to add some gold to my collection but I don´t know what would be a good piece to do this. I´ve never been a fan of rolex so it kind of feels wrong for me to get one but doing some research a two tone sub starts to sound like a good idea.
I don´t want a solid gold watch on a bracelet, in my opinion it´s waaaayyyyyyyy too much bling, but a solid gold case on a bracelet, or something like a two tone Sub would be nice.
What would you recommend based on this criteria??
I don´t want it to be a dress watch because I don´t wear a suit that often, it has to be something that could work with a suit, and also with a more casual look.

I've never been a big TT fan and so that would include Rolex' options in this category as well. However, may I strongly suggest you hunt down a Sedna FOIS to see in person? This is one good looking watch! Panda dial with the strap and gold will allow it to work with just about any situation imo.

I think something like this is perfectly fine without a suit and just a shirt, even if you roll up the sleeves.

I also recently added a gold watch. I think rose gold helps take some of the bling edge off that yellow has.

Here's mine.

What's wrong with a bit of "bling"? Stainless steel and 18-karat rose gold. Not on my wrist at present, but worn often.

Agree with what @Bushido said. Handled one in person and it's definitely even better than the pictures.

Now that is a nice modern gold watch in my opinion. As for the OP, there are many many different gold watches to chose from; both vintage and modern. Do you want WG, RG, or YG? What size do you want? How much do you want to spend?

Vintage two-tone strikes a nice balance, I think.

after reading the title of the OP and for a brief moment I thought this was another William Devane informational about buying gold! 🙄

I like the thin (6mm), simple and elegant approach. A Patek Philippe Calatrava would have been nice too, but was beyond my budget.

Does rose gold count?

Not really a gold guy, but I will say having tried one of those RG YM on, they are very nice! Hard to call it subtle really, but it's much less in your face with the gold than say a yellow gold Day Date is...

My RG JLC Master Calendar Moon looks good anywhere. I changed the gator strap with a horween shell cordovan to dress it down a bit. Classic design.

So do my YG Univeral Uni and Tri Compax. Key for me is understated .. No bling.
