We woke up to -7 this morning. My dog Max still wanted to go for a walk, but my face got really cold.
Minus 34° C, (-30F°) wind chill minus 41° C (-40° F).No new snow. Frozen vehicle, engine turned over but wouldn’t start! Vehicle 5 miles from home, 20-hour wait for a tow! Tow driver asked me to straighten my front wheels. Not possible, so I inserted the ignition key and turned it. Engine started immediately, after having sat for 20 hours at -30° C! Left the engine running while he towed my vehicle 6 miles to a nearby GM dealership. Find out the bad news next week. Just had a province wide warning from our power company about possible blackouts. Record demand on the grid. Tesla owners in panic mode!
My wife was talking to her friend in Portland, Ore., today. She was talking about the cold, cold weather. It was 12° F! That is -11 degrees C! Some folks would kick if they didn’t have legs!
