We had maybe 5 cm (2") of snow in southern Norway. Climate change have made us bad drivers, and we dont change to snow tires in time.

This one had changed to snow tires, but BMW drivers....you know.

I have a same generation X5 and I don't know how this could happen. With snow tires, it goes through anything with aplomb. I'd have to try to wreck it in even the worst freezing rain, snow, etc. and probably only with traction control off. Even with good all season tires, it's extremely capable.

Maybe the cornering speed was too high?

I'd be avoiding high places for a while mate.
Much electrical activity in there?

Be a bit in there, but out of there straight after shot. Had a rip snorter at the airport the other day.
Plane coming in to land was the Bali to Cairns that was diverted to Darwin after Cairns airport closed. Plain flew to Nhulunbuy and back to burn fuel and out of Darwin there was a massive storm requiring it to circle for another half hour. I went out to see if the blue light at the airport was on (meaning the plane won’t land) and a bolt of lightning hit the airport 20meters in front of me. Alarms going of in airport instantly I walked back in to everyone laughing at me…My hair was standing up like I had been electrocuted. Felt the crack after the lightning more than anything. 😁
