·Hi FCA, I got some questions for you. Are you resident of Oaxaca? Actually, I am planning to visit Mexico soon. Probably before Day of the dead. Any recommendation for places to visit? Doing my research for probable places to visit.

I’m not resident only spending some vacation here in the state of Oaxaca, so no expert sorry.
The research I did before leaving pretty much recommended the same.
My recommendations would be Monte Alban, the museum of culture in Oaxaca, some lazy beach towns as Mazunte or Zipolite, do some birding on your own or hook up with someone who knows, eat among the locals.
It all depends on your amount of time and preferences.
I’m leaving just after the day of the dead.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as me

Some 26 years ago I did Mexico City, Chiapas, Yucatán and Chichen Itza Uxmal and other sites, Guatemala, Oaxaca state and back to Mexico City.
Don’t miss Uxmal if you like ancient architecture.

·Central Texas......beautiful weather, finally, after a brutal summer. Lows around 50 deg F, high around 80 deg F, sunny. Had a nice spin yesterday on the motorcycle, took it in for its annual inspection so I can get it registered for the next year. $60 for the rego, $97 for the insurance (thanks Geckko), add gas and it's great entertainment, still enjoy riding after 46 years.

··Seamasters ForeverOvercast and gray, with occasional sprinkles- so nominal for Portland/Vancouver metro. Not bad weather for the Great Pumpkin Regatta, which I have never been to before.. but it is quite interesting to watch people paddle in hollowed-out, overmassive pumpkins!
Of course, after I got home we get blue skies and sunshine. 😀
