My fiddle group performed in the Vulcan (Alberta) parade honouring the 50th anniversary of Star Trek. Every fourth person dress to the nines in the Star Trek uniform, many wearing Spock ears, and many men shaved bald. We were a hit, according to reports. We were afraid of the weather as rain had been forecast. But no rain! Too much wind, but no rain. On the 75 mile drive back home, I was smitten by the beautiful prairie skies, and the fluffy clouds, and I had to stop for a couple photos of the gorgeous cumulonimbus clouds.

I know Montana calls itself "Big Sky Country", but those flat endless Alberta landscapes where you can see clouds hundreds of miles away on the horizon and 90 percent of your horizontal field of view is sky and clouds, makes you feel very very small.

In Fiji today. Tomorrow is last day of vacation.

Even though I live in a paradise (of sorts, and not this time of year for sure), it's very hard to beat this:

And then Monday, it's back to the grind.

Gotta pay for those watches somehow.

Monday evening at about 7:00 pm. Had the boy and cub scout troop over to thin the bass and bluegill. 84 degrees and bright sun so the fishing was a little slow. Usually it is catching instead of fishing. A shot of the almost refurbished dock. I'll post when complete.

Little on the warmish side today. Looks like they were off predicting the high.

Reminds me of my first time in Phoenix. It was 116. They said. "but it's a dry heat".

Yeah, but so is a pizza oven. That's what it felt like.

Not dry in north Texas...the weather sorcerers and witches say 30% rain coming. That means 100%, they just don't know when...and it is 99 degrees F. Heat factor "real feel" is supposedly 104 F. All I know is, I walk into the sunshine, get wet, walk back into the house. I like houses. I like air-conditioning. I like not sweating. I like my clothes not sticking to me due to my own excretions. I like winter. 😎

Me too. Not 99 here, but it is 90-92 every day with 70+% humidity for 7 months a year.

I like our winter better.

In the summer I refer to our house as "The Meat Locker."

I inadvertently left my 13 foot aluminum boat, top side up, exposed to the elements earlier this week, as I tidied my parking pad. I noticed this morning there's a FOOT of water in it! We recently had 2 1/2 inches of rain in one hour! We've been out, camping, four times in the last two months. Rain, rain, rain! I don't remember a summer like this, ever! Good for the garden though!

It's only 103F here. Much cooler than Phoenix.

Here in NC Ohio I just take all the baskets and pots and set them in the pond for a day once a week or so. Used to spend a lot more time dunking them into a big bucket of water to give them a good soaking. I was never allowed to put them in the bath tub and let them soak and get showered at the same time.
