Also, they have some pretty good salads! I've cut back quite a bit on the wing consumption [I used to order 50 breaded wings...but have throttled back to ordering 10 or 20 now].

In the 1990s when I was in high school, the Hooters by me had 10 cent wings on Monday nights. About 10 of us would go and get 500 wings to start. We were normally ordering reinforcements by halftime of the MNF game. It was, in retrospect, pretty gross. 🙄 I too have cut my wing intake WAY back.

Come to think of it, I should tell my doctor this story so he gives me less guilt about my current food choices! 😁

To be honest...Scout's Honor...[I'm an Eagle Scout w/ Silver Palm], I go for the food...specifically the breaded wings...all drums, mild [or medium] heat with celery and blue cheese on the side. I'm also a big fan of 7-Eleven "heat lamp" wings...which imho are fantabulous...but not quite as fantabulous as Hooters wings. 👍

Fellow Eagle Scout checking in - no Silver Palm though. The papers for my Eagle were signed the day before my 18th birthday. I cut it a little close.

Some people go for the wings, while others go for the breasts.

This bad boy has got lots of comments from non watch people on the three occasions I have worn it while visiting my family over the past two weeks. Two people even wanted to buy it from me. My other watches nothing.

I'm going to a meeting on Friday where I know another WIS from my company will be there. And the guy I'm meeting is a WIS. Last time I had my gigantic G-Shock on and it didn't generate any comments (They were wearing a PAM and a vintage Breitling heirloom). Maybe this time I'll go with my F/A-18 Bremont. Not to impress, but to have something better to talk about.

I just love fried pickles from Hooters...
Sometimes food is only one "good" thing that you can get out of some Hooters)))
P.S. Brought my Spanish colleagues to one in Toronto by the airport, guess what we were driving several miles every day to have a "dinner" there. After "dinner", I would drop them at hotel and go to steak place to have a real dinner.))))

I generally don't worry about impressing people, I am what I am. If you have to act different, speak different, or do things different than you would usually to impress someone, that really says something about you, doesn't it. And if others can't take you as you are, that says something about them. And most of the people Iknow this this is a watch.

Well sometimes you have to act different, speak different, do things different depending on what your goals are. It can be a useful skill in many ways, in different situations.I just call it hussle.

Yes and no. You should always be yourself but there is a distinct advantage to being able to "talk to kings and paupers" ... you tailor yourself to your audience.

Let's face it, there are very few people who want to know everything about you and fewer who need to.

I don't wear it to impress, but because I like it. However, I'd be the first to admit it's not the most understated watch I own and seems to be the only one I get asked about.

This. You can be a star employee and a hot lover, but you don't act like a hot lover to your boss. You surface the different parts of your personality that is appropriate to your audience.

To a larger point, I'm a bit surprised by the "I wear what I want to wear" posts (frankly, the vast majority of the posts), as this thread was never about wearing watches for the sake of other people, but rather, choosing a watch that you like within you collection that is appreciated by "civilians".

I used to try and pick watches for other people to notice, but honestly it was too much thought and effort for no "reward". I get more satisfaction from wearing a watch for myself than getting noticed by someone else. In reality the only people that notice are my gf(when it's a new watch), my mom, and sales personnel at ADs/Boutiques.

Once upon a time, I thought this one might get noticed, and identify me as a watch collector. As mentioned in an earlier reply in this thread, my 14-karat gold, 1957 Hamilton Ventura Electric which has always gone unnoticed, regardless of whether there are watch collectors there, or not. This has always puzzled me, this being the iconic watch that it is.

This is my only watch that anyone's ever noticed, and yes I know the minute hand is in the wrong place!
