Always loved that model and those hands. When I first got into watches I didn't like the sub second at 6 thing but lately I've been digging it.

Greg,

speaking with you on more than one occasion I know special this piece is to you. Your hunt to find the right piece, the thrill you had when you initially found it and the child like anticipation for its arrival. Now it’s home and on your rest. I want to say congratulations my friend. Soak it all in. Here at last !

Congrats! And 🥰🥰🥰

His cousin says 'is not potato' ...

😀
2996, right? Very nice. I have a central second Seachero with the same case, different style dial.

Here it is, boys (and girls). Years of searching and careful research to find this one. A spectacular 1958 CK 2990 Ranchero with an original and untouched dial and handset. It was made three weeks after I was born and it is a thing of beauty. I can’t imagine ever topping this. It’s certainly the new crown jewel of my collection.

Does anyone know how this patina will develop further? I.e. if you'd wear this as your daily watch, will it keep this beautiful pumpkin color or slowly fade to black?

I've never seen one that has gone black. The lume usually ranges on a spectrum from greenish to pumpkin to brown.

Amazing score! Really pleased for you, and birth year is the icing on the cake. Wear in very good health.

Fantastic -- and a birth year watch to boot. Congratulations! Almost as cool as landing a Moonswatch! (Just kidding.)
