What I find most intriguing about this model is that it was such a spectacular sales failure when Omega introduced it in 1958. And all because of the name. It’s one of life’s little ironies that the Ranchero is now highly sought after because so few were made and many of them were transformed into Seacheros because they weren’t selling. It’s an absolutely gorgeous watch in the flesh, but it just goes to show what a poorly conceived marketing plan can do to an otherwise stellar product.
