Great post, thank you for putting this together. I didn't see this one on your list but it is a reference LL 6609-1 with a 550 movement and an 18K gold case. The band is 14k gold but I'm don't think it is an Omega band.

This thread is a treat. Thanks. I have loved this line for 30+ years and thought that it never received the attention it deserved. This is awesome.

Reference 14905 is powered by the 24 jewel Omega calibre 552, but I suspect examples destined to be exported to the US to house the 17 jewel calibre 550.

Thank you for this amazing thread. SM DeVille is one of my absolute favorite Omega lines. But honestly I didn't know that there were Soo many variants. Great job!

Yeah, the Seamaster de Ville was a HUGE sub-line. The reason why there are so many SMDV for sale on eBay, Chrono24, etc. at any time is that they sold so many of them. It inspired Omega to launch the De Ville line, so it's a sub-line of the Seamaster that got so successful that they created a whole new line inspired by it alongside the Seamaster and that still exists today. The SMDV was such a significant watch and its design is so accessible, it deserved its own thread.

The design is right on spot even today compared with any dress watch out there (size is another story :)

In my early collecting years I tried to get every dial version until few years after I realized it was literally impossible.

The line was super successful here in Scandinavia as well and most of the Omegas sold during 60:s were SM DeVille. Another cool thing is despite being such a a common model it has steadily climbed in value and still does. Demand for nice ones will always be there. Wish I kept a half of the at least :D

    Cheers!

Haha yes! I regularly discover 'new' dial variations. There are so many of them.
