The one that fits like a glove...

I've had my Speedmaster for a year now. After rotating some watches, I haven't worn it for a few days which is a long time for me. Putting it back on today it just feels perfect. The weight, the bracelet, the look. Everything about it feels just right. Like coming home. Maybe it's just because it's my first luxury watch. I don't know. Feels more balanced than my Seamaster and more GADA than my Constellation. At this point, if I had to choose only one watch from my "collection" it would be the Speedmaster hands down.

Anybody else have a watch like this? What's yours? Of course, pictures are most welcome.

Speedy was also my first expensive watch and would be my one and only, if pressed. As much as I love the design, history, quality, community, the one thing that bugs me is the fit. It sits a little high on my wrist. Throughout the day, I often readjust it on my wrist by opening the clasp and repositioning it. I do not like tight watches and I don't like too loose watches. It's hard to get it right.

I've had it on the 1861 bracelet, the 1175 bracelet, BOR and sharkproof mesh, Horween leather and lizard, but no nylon. The BOR felt the best. The shark mesh was very comfortable but I needed another extension or an adjustable clasp.

Truthfully, I don't have many perfectly comfortable watches. There are more comfortable than others, but not that fits like a glove. This Seamaster is probably the most comfortable vintage and it's also on a BOR.

The most comfortable is probably my G-Shock DW5600C

Tried this Monaco on a week ago and it was crazy comfortable as it sat nicely on my wrist. But the clasp was a bit tight, so maybe on a different strap or bracelet. The thing it showed me is you never know how a watch will feel just by looking at it.

Mines the Speedmaster Pro as well. It is very much my favorite watch to wear, but I like it too much to be able to wear it every day (at risk of scratching it/damaging the Bezel).

Two words: flat-link.

I’ve tried all the popular Omega bracelets without spring links, and my experience is exactly what you describe. My Speidel twist-o-flex bracelet is incredibly comfortable, but so cheap and flimsy that I can’t take it seriously.

Enter the flat-link: those few springy links on either end make for a perfect fit, and accommodate to rapid weather changes as the wrist diameter subtly changes. And the bracelet still looks legit because most of it is solid. Many think it’s flimsy; I think it’s perfect.

It’s a great every day watch. If you mess the bezel up bad enough just send it to Omega when it needs a service and they’ll replace it for you. Problem solved. 😀

Couldn’t agree more about the BOR bracelet. I have them on several of my vintage Omegas and they fit better and are more comfortable than any other bracelet or strap that I have owned.

I'll get there SOMEDAY.... Still not confident in doing so. The sailcloth strap + Omega deployant made it much easier to wear, but that could just be that I dislike bracelets.

I AM falling for my new Railmaster and (less so) my Brosnan Bond Seamaster, so I'm wearing those on more 'dangerous' days.

I heard an economist say when China does an invasion on Taiwan we will be able to watch our economy collapse in not days or hours, but seconds. I’m going to wear this perfectly fitting creation to run the chrono see if he’s right.

I acquired two Forstner aftermarket bracelets from Ebay. The 1450 and a contemporary flat link. I’ve switched them up multiple times on the two watches I wear the most and eventually settled on flatlink-Seamaster and 1450-Speedmaster. Respectively, the best fit for each watch.

Another vote for BoR bracelets from me.

The right bracelet can transform a watch. My perfectly nice 145.016-68 was languishing in my sock drawer until I finally got the right bracelet for it and now I feel I finally have a poor-man’s Speedmaster worthy of the name (needs a relume).

As for straps that I can wear during the non-sweltering commuting season, I’ve sourced a number of rustic-looking reptile bands from Thailand that are really soft and comfortable and look like a million bucks with old watches.

In the end if I could only keep one watch it would have to be the Rolex 1675 GMT.

This watch ticks all the boxes for me.

Beautiful! If I had one it would definitely give the Speedy a run for it's money.
