That sounds like some important work you are doing. I do doc video work and I sometimes wish I had a chance to do more oral history projects. It overlaps a bit, but half of running interviews for short docs is me going "wow, that was an amazing story, but this video is 10 min max, so can you try and tell me that in a shorter quote?" Makes for a nice short video but doesn't allow me to dig too deep.
That's cool. I have considered doing video, but for storage purposes I am leaning towards audio only.

I just want to report that I managed to squat a heavy single at 420 on 4/20. My wife wasn't super impressed by this news so I thought I'd blab about it here.

I can’t help but think it was a missed opportunity to not have done this at 4:20.

It's definitely more cost effective to get good audio than good video. And, storing / archiving video long-term requires a couple orders of magnitude more space.

Good luck on your project! I feel like recording these types of stories is of real importance to humankind as time and culture continue to march on.

That is some serious weight, I'm impressed!

You go to the driving range while wearing a Speedmaster?! You sure it can take that kind of abuse? ::stirthepot::
I miss the ball at least half the time, so it’s fine. 😲

I wouldn't be worried about it. The Speedy should stand up to a few strokes.

Now, if the greens keeper was wearing one while cutting the fairway... That's an entirely different story 🤨

I’m also a big fan of that worn ripstop look. The green looks great but black is more my style. But, I’m also a bracelet guy through and through so not sure I’d stick with a strap on the Speedy for any length of time.
How do you think this canvas (called Raven) from Veblenist would compare to the ripstop? Comes with a faded black color. I may order it for the Speedy and check it out. The Panzer Green canvas looks pretty sweet as well. Looping @Scarecrow Boat in…

I have purchased three straps from @Optimizer13 (veblenist) and they have all been great quality. I haven’t purchased any of the canvas straps yet because I honestly can’t make up my mind which I want more. The Panzer, Raven, and a few others just look really good.

I’ve got a cheap green canvas. Will likely roll with the Raven and add the Cedaro leather strap to the order as well. Had no idea the owner was a member.

Who’s tried the Dr Pepper with dill pickles? I saw it yesterday and was intrigued. I just happened to have an almost-empty jar of pickles and some Dr Pepper, so I tried it. It’s weird but I love it.

Ooo... I don't know ahartfie.

We have a freshly opened jar of Mt. Olive Kosher Baby Dills just like yours in the refrigerator's door shelf right now, but no Dr Pepper.

I'm trying to wrap my head around why this could make a good combination.

I love dill pickles, and I love popcorn. I air pop some popcorn, drizzle it with olive oil, then I have a spray bottle with dill pickle juice in it. I spray the popcorn with that, and add a little salt.

I expected it to taste like dill pickle popcorn, but to my surprise, it testes like the buttery popcorn you get at the movies. It's like magic...

So I will give this a try, since I like dill pickles and Dr. Pepper.

We've been eating more popcorn lately as a cheap, low calorie source of fiber... And it's shocking how many ingredients work with popcorn. Spicy stuff, sweet stuff, savory stuff. Almost anything seems to work. we had dill popcorn from Lidl a fews back and it was great.

My wife and I shared a bowl of popcorn with M&M's the other night while starting Fallout.
That's the move...

I always use olive oil, but for sprinkling toppings there are a lot of good ones. We had some Pampered Chef spice blends that we got for free once, and I just started trying them. One that really was good was garlic and cracked black pepper. Once I used that bottle up, I just started using garlic powder and grinding some pepper on top.

I do have a recipe for a sour cream and onion topping as well...

1/4 cup powdered buttermilk
4 tsp onion powder
2 tsp dried dill
1 tsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt

It works surprisingly well...

I don’t know why it works, but for me it does. So far I’ve just used pickle brine, no actual pickles. I heard there’s another variation where you add lemon as well as pickle, and I’m going to try that tomorrow.

You enjoy! I’m gonna stick to my three drinks of choice: black coffee, water, and Fresca at the end of my day. I’m too set in my ways to experiment at this point. 😁

I hope you like it!

Yesterday in my Googling I discovered a company that sells pickle brine (they call it elixir) by the gallon. I guess there really is a market for anything and everything.

I’m on such a high diuretic dose that I am always drinking something. The usual suspects get old mighty quick. I do drink a lot of Spindrift though.

Well, if we're going to go all weird food combinations I will mention a sandwich my grandmother taught me to make: peanut butter and yellow mustard. It really is worthwhile, especially when served with a large helping of sentimental memories.
