I made popcorn a couple of weeks ago using bacon grease to pop it in. I then crumbled up the bacon and topped the popcorn with it. It made for a terrific snack.

Well, if we're going to go all weird food combinations I will mention a sandwich my grandmother taught me to make: peanut butter and yellow mustard. It really is worthwhile, especially when served with a large helping of sentimental memories.
I ate PB and dill pickle sandwiches a lot in middle school…. Hmmm….. I’m sensing a theme here.

Enjoy the memories! (But I’ll pass on that combo 😁)

When I was growing up, we didn’t have much. I learned that mayonnaise sandwiches (no meat…didn’t have any sometimes) were actually pretty good if you are hungry. That’s a memory I’ll not try to enjoy again if I can help it.

I like weird stuff and pickles, but what ratio dill pickle juice to Dr Pepper. Or is it just Dr Pepper with pickles in it ?

When we were kid we used to take a sip of coke and then fill up the bottle with peanuts,

I used a good glug of brine, probably somewhere between 1/4 and 1/3 cup per 12-ounce can of soda. You can also just use pickles but I haven’t done that yet.

I did try lemon juice today too but I couldn’t tell a difference.

1/4 cup= 0.59 dl 12 oz = 3.55 dl That should make 1 part to 6 I think

Thanks I`ll try it this summer, I haven`t even tasted DrPepper before.

Random observation while at Nordstrom Rack: they don't even bother putting pushers on the 'chronograph' fashion watches and the bezels don't turn on these 'divers'.

Facebook market place keeps showing me this ad. I am too scared to open the link to find out what it is, but my initial thoughts are this is commonly used for either:

1) sexy deep sea fishing
2) actually, that’s all I can think of, it’s really got me “stumped”

Any ideas?

Yes, and then there's this one...

Apparently there are so many watchmakers available, they have put them on sale...

Unfortunately I know exactly what it is. A strap/pad to hold an Inguinal hernia in place, I.e. so your guts don’t spill out of the split in your abdominal/Inguinal muscle wall.
Ask me how I know? Going in for surgery to have mine patched up on Friday.

I was sure that someone was going to say it was a secure watch travel pouch with built-in demagnetizer.

your comment is significantly worse 😬. I had a hernia operation when my colon tried to take a shortcut out my navel. Surgery was easy, as was the recovery. But I leaned quickly that the sidewalk to the left of my home went up a previously unnoticed uphill. Core strength took a bit to come back. I hope you have an easy go of it.

Thanks, my core strength, along with a load of other muscle have been sacrificed over the last 4 months along with a pile of blubber as I have shed 50 plus pounds ready for surgery using Wegovy.
I had the other side done in my 40’s so I know what to expect….but that was nearly 30 years ago. We will see.

I am SO envious!!
Went in for keyhole with open surgery as a fall back. Keyhole no good, my surgeon (30 years specific experience) opened me up and could not fix the Inguinal as I also have a femoral hernia! Closed me up as it is now so complex he needs another surgeon to work together on me in a higher risk theatre. Scan and plan next Tuesday now laying around on pain killers.

Dang, sorry to hear that. It sounds like you have the best of the best on your side though. It will all be worth it. You know the rule about pain killers, eBay and wristwatches…

Happy Summer everyone! I hope you all are doing well, especially @p4ul after the surgery. We got rain for our first day of Summer. I spent the day yesterday creating a video game yesterday for my daughter's friend who is blind. Well, I guess it is more of an audiogame, but there is an option to play it with video if you want.

As a videogame it is really simple, you control the red ship which can only move vertically on the screen. The enemy green ships come at you from right to left and you have to shoot them. Your ship makes a humming sound and the pitch changes with the vertical position. The enemy ships make a blipping sound whose pitch depends on their vertical position. If you are blind or playing in blind mode, you have to adjust your vertical position by matching the pitch of your ship's humming to the pitch of the enemy ship and fire. To keep it from being too difficult there are only two horizontal lanes (vertical positions) in which the ships can move in Level 1. As you move up the levels more lanes are added until there are 8 different lanes. After that the enemy ships start to move faster on higher levels.

I had no idea if my idea would actually work, but surprisingly it is actually pretty fun to play in blind mode. It is fun to engage a different sense.
