Omega has an alligator strap that's imbued with rubber for the Seamaster.

I did not know that. I couldn't find anything on the web site other than Nato and rubber. If you have a link, that would be great!

The "look" you're going for reminds me of a Breitling. Since it would be anathema to put a Breitling on an Omega, why not go with this excellent Hirsch:

I used to be a Breitling enthusiast, but that big blingy look wore me down. I like the Hirsch, thanks!

Hmmm, that's an 18mm for the PO, not a 20mm SMP. 🙁
He has a ton of 20mm, I'll post the link. Good luck.

I had posted earlier here about my new strap, which was widely unloved and universally criticized. I confess too that it did not grow on me, although it is supremely comfortable. It may go on the Speedy later.

Unable to find what I wanted elsewhere, I turned to the 'bay and bought what is very likely a Chinese made (no country of origin shown) inexpensive albeit "genuine Italian leather" strap that nearly almost kind of matches the blue of the Seamaster. It is stiff and uncomfortable, but is getting better. I like the contrast stitching as well.

Opinions solicited.

As for comments in the past that a cheap strap can break and cause me to lose the watch, it seems more likely to me that until the leather gets worn, cracked and splits, it's more likely to fail from a broken pin than the strap.

$22 shipped from Texas.

Looks good! 👍

I make straps as a hobby and trade them with my jeweller for repairs and the occasional watch. Here is a blue one with red stitching for my Jeweller’s son.

Thanks, he does carry the Omega Seamaster 20mm 98000210 but since he can't spell deployant properly, I hesitate to buy it...
I traded emails with him about the 18mm for mine and he was very responsive and quick to respond. I wouldn't hesitate to order from him myself, but decided to find my metal bracelet first, I had already found my double ridged alligator too. Not sure now I want a "rubber infused" alligator band for my speedy now? I'll probably just pony up the $277 for the clasp designed strap now.

One other person posted the custom Jean Russeau one. They make the official oem one but I actually called them last year and it was 275 and 6 weeks. Called an AD down the street was 230 and 4-5 days. The oem one does have more padding but here is a pic. It’s an extremely comfortable strap. I actually sold the bracelet as I did not like the older butterfly clasp so it stays on this all the time. I think it would look great on the 300 for a more casual look.

I had the Omega OEM blue cordura but disliked the bulk / bulge at the lugs it has, wanted the style that is used on their Snoopy band ( Omega OEM blue cordura on left, Omega OEM Snoopy black cordura on right):

and here Omega OEM Snoopy black cordura on left, Omega OEM blue Cordura on the right

so ask JR to custom build for me a “blue snoopy”, which lacks that bulge at the lugs
