On the new no-date Seamasters: pricing?

Take the new black one vs. the Bond 60th. Essentially the same watch but in a different color. The new one is 6500 USD; the Bond is 8300.

I get that the Bond is a LE and has the caseback “animation” (that some would see as silly and gimmicky but others like), and that it has the “60” bezel.

Does that stuff alone justify an $1800 price differential?

Do we assume that Omega will not release a blue color variant for the new watch in order to avoid heightening the absurdity of this price disparity?

I’m glad that Omega didn’t price the new Seamasters at 8k. But I do feel like the Bond’s pricing is now quite bizarre. Unless you really care about the movie branding..?

Licensing in a nutshell, Bond watches have always been a few thousand more than regular pricing.

Perhaps a better question might be why is the new no date $800 or whatever more than the existing standard model when that has ceramic dial, bezel and a fully functioning bracelet. We were told that Aluminium inserts were old hat and prices were raised when the new super tough bezel material was rolled out. Now it seems aluminium is another step forward? Err.

The real answer is they charge what they can get away with. Always have.

Well they could probably say they had to painstakingly add lume to the bezel…😅
Recent trend seems to be ceramic/pip lume or aluminium/full lume.

But a little chunkier around the midsection and wearing a belt which just doesn't fit quite right 🤣

This is what I said on another thread about 5 minutes after release. More money for less content in a parts bin watch.
