Hollywood Hills gig.

The load in was miserable, but the view wasn't bad...

That's me on the right.

I don't have a great picture of my drum kit right now, but here's a recent shot in "record mode":

And here I am on stage in "play mode" at Bar XIII not long ago:

Same kit I've played since the mid 90s with a few upgrades along the way like the Gibaltar rack -- should have gotten that 10 years ago! -- and many more cymbals, all Sabian (not sponsored, lol)

Those toms! Deep toms were quite the thing in the 80s and 90s. I sold my early 90s kit a while back, as well as the Sonor kit I played back when I started this thread back in 2018!

My office today: Sonor Vintage Series (matching Sonor snare or Dunnett 2N stainless steel).

Cool kit! I dig it.

I'm from the day of the big drum sound -- learning how to play on records that my mom had in the basement like steppenwolf, king crimson, led zep, and iron butterflyu (yes, I knew all 17 minutes of the innagadadavida drum solo at one point in my life!) Moved onto metallica and slayer ... then into classic rock, then pop punk, then southern rock, and now back to metal ... these days it's more pantera/groove metal style.

Oooh can I play? First up my 1979 Kramer DMZ 3000 with an aluminium neck. The wood on the back is actually an inlay - the whole neck is aluminium. Great for sustain. Not so great for tuning stability or weight or balance. It's neck heavy and weighs a ton. Sounds epic though - they're Seymour Duncan pick ups and are very hot. Neck is thin and wide and perfect for my fat fingers!

Had it set up a few years ago and it was like getting a new guitar back. Now plays as good as it looks.

Secondly my Tailor 314ce. Had it for decades, proper workhorse. Great stage guitar. It was in the boot of my parents' car when they had a massive car accident. Had to be cut out the car - that sort. When I got the guitar back the case was cracked and I honestly thought the guitar would be in bits inside. Not only was it intact but was still perfectly in tune!
