May be my last post here. but I refer Fred to a post I read here not long ago about the law school.
Your posts, in my mind are part of the real problem here. You egg it on, and then agree when someone states that it needs to be pulled back. You are a main instigator in creating sh*t. Very little watch content, of late, and always the first to be contentious, and then agreeable, in the same thread. Give it a break man, you are not helping this forum.

I think the OP's heart is clearly in the right place, but I respectfully feel that his concerns are a bit exaggerated. Yes, established members should be polite, but newbies should also put more effort into learning their way around the forum before charging in with inappropriate and/or stale threads. And these dynamics are longstanding, I'm not seeing any sort of step change in behavior.

Reading between the lines from posts by some of the original OF members, I get the sense that there has always been an intention to have a less sterile and more permissive environment than one finds on other forums, which makes it much more fun IMO, but also means that people need to navigate their way through some strong personalities, just as they might need to do in the real world.

You're right. I should instead be criticizing new members on how they quote entire posts.

I When you don't know the person, be more polite, formal, and careful about the way you write. That's pretty much the case in the real (e.g. business) world and I think similar guidelines could work here.

sorry but i disagree.

1. it depends on the behavior of the person
2. in real life business this group cuddle mentality is the wrong approach. i can't tread everyone as the unique snowflake they pretend to be. if i have think for 30min of how to explain my coworker that he is simply wrong (without the slightest possibility to hurt his/her/it feelings) then something is wrong

And this is an example of going from a topic, to a personal attack.

Last time I checked, this was a watch forum and not a corporate company. I worked in corporate for several years and understand the need for assertive behaviour. This is a watch forum where we head to for fun.

And what have you done to help the forum other than offer cheap Chinese watches for sale?

Once again I respectfully request the moderators delete a post when necessary and not the thread. I genuinely believe that this thread has value and maybe just maybe it will have a positive result.

I wouldn't be surprised if the squirrel is laughing at all this and thinking to himself "thank f蠀ck I got out when I did."

Was only chatting to him the other day, he bought a 39mm PO off the FS thread like a stealth bomber.

So he's still a member then?
