Sorry, don't mean to derail this thread... I do like the idea so hopefully more people will continue to share other gems they've found
Do you know where I can find this ad? Looks in prestine condition indeed. Not sure if you are allowed to post links, but the name of the site will do. Can't find it on Ebay or Chrono24.
Sure, don't think there's any problem linking to auctions here. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OMEGA-Se...660aa491626e5b0fffc174d|iid:1&redirect=mobilePurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Here's another watch which can be added on here, perhaps a bit more of a gamble as the seller doesn't have perfect feedback I generally look for. At this price though if I had the funds it would be on its way to me. Not a fan of the orange NATO but watch looks in nice condition and I can't remember ever seeing one this reasonably priced(in recent years at least). I think it's a beauty. Price is $675 + p&p, aprox £518. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-...zel-Tuning-Fork-/273540704567?redirect=mobilePurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Appealing 36mm SS column-wheel (Val22) chronograph, with an asking price of $1,145 + $24 shipping and a best-offer option. The case is worn but sharp and the dial has a great design and attractive patina IMO. The Garland brand was affiliated with Ball. I guess people aren't drawn to obscure brands, and obviously one doesn't expect a watch like this to be a tremendous investment. But I think this would be a nice piece for someone looking to get into high-quality vintage chronographs. I've seen it posted a number of times, so the listing is getting pretty stale. https://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPERB-STA...D-Valjoux22-/132849155558?hash=item1eee6d3de6Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
It wasn't me that bought it but I was watching the auction. One bid in the last 2 seconds and they won it for US$950. I reckon that was a very good price, a lot of tat out there for a lot more money. I probably should have bought it.
I thought this one would have gone by now. I haven't seen another like it. Some marks on the linen dial but I still think it's a great little watch if you like that 60s/70s cusp style (which I do) and don't mind someone's initials on the back. Not overpriced, everything appears correct, the 552 movement looks very clean and there are just the usual minor knocks on the case.I suspect a good watchmaker might even clean off the worst of those marks but of course that's a gamble. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/362490090223?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
That is very nice for the money. I'm not keen on the handset and markers but everything else is a win. Thanks for sharing, hopefully someone here might grab it(I'm a dry as a chip at the moment sadly).
Here's one I'll be even more surprised if it doesn't sell after I post it here .... Priced at £595 which is very good for one of the dirty dozen. http://www.theoldwatchshop.com/miscpics/Dscn25856.jpg The loss of paint on the numerals may not be too everyone's liking, and if course no moment shots etc. But looks a very nice condition case, dial, handset etc. looks good and the price I think it's excellent especially from a dealer. I've never bought from this place but have followed the site for a few years.
This 14381 has been up for a while. There is patina but it's not unpleasant, everything looks original, the case appears unpolished and the movement looks good. There's also a 5-row BOR with 11 end links. It's £825 with the option to make an offer. At that price for a decent SS Constellation, I am amazed it's still hanging around. The BOR alone is about £150 worth. I have been tempted to make an offer but I already have a good 14381 and I can't afford the luxury of two. IMO (and I have no connection with the seller) this is a nice and sought-after Constellation at a very reasonable price. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/163408262905?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
