I will agree that the more commercial the site became, the more boosterish it became. Yes, their impact on prices is palpable since they have helped make the style fashionable. How many of you have made a profit on stuff you bought years ago? The slide away from objectivity IMO began with their vintage watch sales. That said, they promote the hobby, are doing a better job with more affordable brands, and there is still content worth grazing on there. As with all on line content, read with a skeptical eye.

And then we get this gem:

“My general rule of thumb with Longines collecting is: If it's got a winged hourglass on its dial, I'm not interested. Call me a blasphemous snob, but that's just how it is. Yes, I realize it was the watchmaker's very first logo with a rich history dating back to 1889, but its presence really does change the overall appearance of a watch. The frequency with which the emblem was applied to dials first picked up in the 40s, and it was in full force by the 60s, by which point the brand was a different beast altogether.”

I think he meant knob, not snob.

More guff .....

“The red and blue split was intentional...”

What?! Like sometimes people design defining watch features by accident ?!

Not to mention

“We believe it has not been polished...”

Meaning, it probably has been polished .....
