Thanks for the link....

Per Monochrome, An Online Magazine Dedicated to Fine Watches...

"The cases of the Universal Genève Space Compax are very beautifully made - either very angular, like the one above, or with the pusher side brushed and rounded, which give the watch an organic rolled feel."

Do we want to believe the collective wisdom of the folks here on this forum, or the team of "passionate experts" at Monochrome : )

All kidding aside, I bought one of these "fakes" a few years ago for little more than the value of the V72 movement. I enjoy it for what it is, but would never try to pass it off as anything it isn't...

Understood, thanks. So basically these are vintage V72 cases from a case manufacturer that may or may not have constructed the real space compax cases as well.
The casebacks of these cases were most probably clean on their inside and someone restamped them. Am I on the right track?

Buy the way, I found the basis for the fake dials. I put them here attached and compared to one of the fakes. These are original vintage dials, respectively baseplates. All Show the non-symmetry of the hour markers. So this is indeed not a mistake the fakers have done. I guess however that the UG logo was added later on. There is a solution you can buy, but I forgot the name, with it you can check if anything has been added to the dial.
