Look my Golden Tulip
If that’s not a Genta design, I’ll send my worms back.

I think the 200 post minimum is arbitrary and capricious.

And I should get some credit for using the word capricious, too.

I think it should be a thousand.

What was it for, again?

I love those 70's Seamasters but she has her heart set on a Black Tulip.
Care to share an example picture of this black tulip, sir?

Am curious about which Seamaster is a Genta design. So this quartz golden tulip is a confirmed design of the great Genta?

The time frame and design elements really point to it. He did more then a few omegas before and after this piece.

I’m just commenting on the design cues.

Not speaking from any authority but it might be after Genta's time and just shows Genta influence. His era with Omega was the dog leg and c case Connie I think. Not sure how much he did for Omega in the '70s or '80s, he presumably had his hands full with the RO, Nautilus, Pasha his own line at that point.

Your photography skills are good enough that your fingerprint is quite clear. Excellent photo of an excellent watch.

I thought he did the Manhattan cased Connies, and those came out in 82. Well the internet may be wrong on this one...

I think the 200 threshold is excellent. It doesn’t just keep away the day traders, but it forces one to get involved in the community. I’m sure if you were to poll the collective on how many people honestly just came here to post a WTB or WTS originally and have ended up becoming part of the community- it would be a fairly large number.
And yes, your use of capricious is laudable.
I am also a fan of the 200 post minimum. I know it has gotten me to read and contribute more....and I genuinely consider myself apart of this community now. Without it, who knows

I agree that the 200 post minimum is a smart rule that helps this watch community develop, rather than allowing it to be overtaken by more people worshipping sales. There is so much self serving bullshit on the net, without allowing it to infiltrate here.

This forum is the best virtual clubroom for people with shared interests (dare I say obsessions?) that I have found.

I am a member of fora in other collecting areas but have not found that they share anything like the same level of good information exchange, experts who actually show you in detail what they are talking about, shared experiences (like the current hilarious thread on dealing effectively with a scammer), and even things right off topic just for the fun of it. I enjoy this space every time I log on.

I take my hat off to the guys who built and maintain this forum. You can be proud of what you are contributing to the rest of us.

Well if that’s the case the the tulip was bound to be his. Dog leg aside, I can’t say I really like his work but you have to admire his diversity.

@BlackTulip have you thought to contact some of the forums’ trusted dealers to inquire as to whether they might have seen one and ask them to be on the lookout for you?
There are a number of dealers here who are well regarded and you should put out feelers as they might have sources you do not.

Of course they may ask you about your budget and dealers will charge more than if you find the watch on your own. But this is exactly the type of situation which justifies their margin.

Also I’ve recently met someone who’s got a huge collection which includes some unusual watches and he told me to give him a ping if I were ever looking for something unusual, as he might just have it— so I will check with him if he might have a black tulip.

best regards
