Love that Seamaster but in my opinion it’s got to be the Skyfall Aqua Terra!😎

Rolex Explorer is the original and best Bond watch…😁
Well, the "Rolex Explorer I" might certainly be the best Ian Fleming watch. 👍
But the best Bond watch? Not so sure. While most do believe Fleming's personal Rolex Explorer 1016 was the basis for the original James Bond watch in his novels, it's never mentioned by name - only as a "Rolex Oyster Perpetual". So for me, I can only relate to it as a Bond watch on paper, but I'm more of a visual guy.

The Seamaster from Spectre has a great look.
The NTTD is a beauty.
The Seamaster from GoldenEye is the greatest.

And a Quartz model no less, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Spectre 300 is my favorite. Followed by the NTTD.

In regards to the conversation before about why would Bond have a watch with government markings, I agree. To go further, why would bond wear a watch with the movie branding? And the 007 logo? I feel like they should go all the way and make it look like an Omega watch that is curiously altered. Have a strange looking utilitarian caseback, have some cryptic engravings to make it look like something Bond would be assigned. I guess by that logic, the original Diver 300m is the most convincing. The NTTD is close if it wasn’t for the 007 logo. I would have preferred it to say 007 in a plain government-issued-looking font.

Today (and as I happen to be wearing mine) I will go with the 16800/16610 as worn in License To Kill...

This is the only strange thing with the design:

Yes, the bracelet is beautiful but the clasp design is weird.

That's a great looking Bond watch. I still can't tell if it's worth it without seeing in person.

I got one with both straps and my take is that it is worth it. Elegant, discreet, stealthy / under the radar yet beautiful.

Congrats!!! Great pic!!! What was your package like? Could you share a pic please? That I was a little surprised that it came only with this simple black box, inside the leathercase without tools and such. I started to think because from the Watch Advisor video you can see in the beginning quite a different box for this Seamaster:

The box you saw on Watch Advisor is the one made for some personnel who participated in the movie. The watch back is specifically engraved with the movie title as well as there is a word of thanks from Barbara B & Michael W to the person the watch is given to.

My package—very different when comparing to WA video:

Yes, that is the retail packaging without accessories.

Modern Omega policy:
Prices up, costs down....

I don’t think so. The large box was specially made for the film crew. The watch has a specially engraved back with the movie title and a word of thanks from Barbara B and Michael W to a named person from the crew. The French stunt man got one.

Does anyone know why they are not limited editions like the previous bond watches? For the price you may expect them to be?

Having previously managed to source 2 of 1000 pieces IWC limited ceramic Doppelchronograph and 1 of 768 pieces Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Tribute to Polaris 1968 I can tell it is rather stressful. Limited editions can make some watches virtually unobtainable or much more difficult to obtain should these be popular so it is a nuisance and a stress I’d rather do without. Being unlimited allow more people to buy and enjoy whilst at the same time it brings more money to Omega or whatever manufacturer. So it’s great ! I don’t think Rolex watches makes any numbered limited edition or do they ?

It seems like there are a lot of complaints about the high price of the two new Bond Seamasters. What would you consider to be a reasonable price for the watch on the mesh bracelet? How about on the NATO?

These watches are not limited but their price was adjusted to create a sense of exclusivity.

Prices keep shooting up presumably from marketing and popularity. I agree, 9200 is a bit steep when gauging competition at this price point.. and I wish these were limited, would justify the cost more. Still might get one, waiting on call from AD to check it out.

It’s funny I’d rather have these priced high rather than limited as my main objective is to be able to get one should I wish so… Chasing limited editions can be a rather bumpy ride and stressful so for my part no stress is better.

Bit of a joke is all. We liked each other quite a lot, actually. If anything, he knew this daughter better than I, and was warning me off 😁

We were engaged for a fleeting moment, but her father’s battle with cancer and passing took a toll on everything including our relationship, and it wasn’t meant to be.

Seventeen years later, funny thing is my now wife and that ex are pretty close friends. We have dinner occasionally with her and her partner, or our kids have play dates once in a blue moon.

I wore that watch every day and night, never took it off, for probably 7 years, but haven’t worn it a day in the past 10 years. That ex has a little boy, only 8, and this thread has caused me to realize I might consider passing that watch on to him, from the grandfather he never met.

Suppose I should have it serviced in either event, and think it over.

Having handled the NTTD watch yesterday, it's nice, I like it, and being a Bond fan, I'd love to add it to my collection. But it's definitely not worth the price its selling for be it on nato or mesh. Especially when it comes with no proper Omega box or accessories. Unless that's how we see the watch being presented to Bond in the movie with that pouch (I guess we'll know soon enough), I don't see why Omega just couldn't add in the usual box or a 007 themed box to come with the watch. And even if Bond did receive the watch with that pouch in the movie, a 007 themed box with the accessories like how the Spectre was presented would've been nice for that price.

Paying close to SGD13K for a watch and that's how it comes..... Meh. It just feels incomplete. Overpriced sounds about right. I'll get it if it sells below retail. Definitely not paying full price. More power to those with the extra cash to splurge on this though. Enjoy the watch!

I'm good with my Bond trio and would love to add the NTTD watch one day, but a pity about the price.

I’d rather have the pouch as it is useful rather than the large wooden boxes which are beautiful yes but take a lot of space and we usually don’t know what to do with other than store for the day the watches may be sold on…

Ok, I see. Excellent idea for you to get the watch serviced and passed on to the man’s grand child the day he turns 18 or 21… It would be an elegant and touching gesture.

I heard on YouTube that 30% discounts were available in Singapore. Is that correct ? Such discounts are definitely not available within the EU and UK…
