Yup, the state's high point is at one three thousand, five hundred, and probably not very far from where you snapped the photo. Maybe Vernal or Green River?
Ephraim! Beautiful scenery, indeed 😎

Never heard of this TV show. What was it about? Tried Googling it but not finding much.
USAF test pilot moving with his family between AFBs all over the USA. Lots of T-38 action, F-4 and even Lockheed A-12.
Elisabeth Sue was the daughter of the family 👍

@Archer @SpeedyPhill
I best remember Elisabeth Shue from the Karate Kid. A story I heard was that she was just one semester away from completing her degree at Harvard when she withdrew to pursue her acting career. She later returned in 1997 and finished her BA in political science in 2000.

Fouga Magister jet trainer!
Sadly, my schoolboy French is not good enough to decipher what the sign below it says.

Swiss flight attendant manufactures watch in the air between Geneva and New York

During the 8-hour flight from Geneva to New York, a clock was created.

Genève Tourisme
Above the clouds, a steward assembles a timepiece under the guidance of a watchmaker. And that at an altitude of over 10,000 meters.

On Wednesday, an unusual scene takes place in the back of the business cabin of the Swiss flight Geneva-New York. Two left-handers sit in front of a portable workbench, which is placed on their seat shelves. The duo makes a watch at an altitude of over 10,000 meters.

The watch was created by flight attendant Damien Perucca.

Emmanuel Coissy
One is a watchmaker from Neuchâtel, Kevin Nebel, 38 years old. The other, Damien Perucca, 26 years old, is a flight attendant from Geneva. Under the guidance of the master, he carefully assembles the gear. Of the eight hours the flight lasted, it took him a little less than three hours to complete the clock.

The timepiece is the first to be made in an aircraft at this height. The professional watchmaker explains: "There are no particles in the air. The ventilation is the same as in a laboratory."

Promoting watchmaking

The action is an initiative of Genève Tourisme in cooperation with the Swiss airline and is intended to promote watchmaking. The clock born in the air is until the 22nd. October in a showroom of Watches of Switzerland in Manhattan and is one of the 84 creations selected for the Grand Prix de l'horlogerie de Genève, which took place on the 9th. November at the Théâtre du Léman.

Incentive for North Americans

The choice of the Swiss flight to New York is not insignificant. Because numerous North American travelers come to Geneva every year. According to Geneva Tourism, they booked a total of 378,475 overnight stays in 2019. The organization expects an increase for 2023, as the number is currently already 305,233 overnight stays. Travelers from New York stay an average of two nights. The project, which was carried out between food trays and slight turbulence, is also intended to promote watchmaking courses in Geneva. The idea behind it: You want to get visitors to extend their stay by one or two nights.

With the courses, you can assemble a clockwork yourself within just one day. Depending on which option you choose, you can even go home with your own watch on your wrist.

Not so on some of the flights I've been on 😁.

Note: First and Business pax get EXACTLY the same air as all of the farters/burpers/pukers/coughers in the back of the hermetically sealed aluminium tube.

I like how the article uses Height versus Altitude 😗
Height = Above Sea Level
Altitude = Above Ground Level

Actually Planes are like sieves! They suck in fresh air and then pushed out in under 3mins. Plus doors are leaky and all the cooling systems. Let’s say U wouldn’t want to fly cargo! Air pressure is maintained with bleed air or a powered pump.

This is a pilot training video on the 777 system. It gives a clear explanation on how it functions. there is nothing clean about it just like all other aircraft with the exceptions being the 787 and A350. Engine bleed air to heat exchangers or trim valves to ACMs with particle filters in-between is all good, its the recerculation fan that leaves the farty taste in your mouth because.....
