The (admittedly) first ΩF GTG at 320kmh

A couple of weeks ago, I’ve got contacted by @tamura though the forum. Some PM’s later, we realized that he lives not far from my travel route through Japan. A bit of research and sync, we managed to jump into the same high-speed train « Shinkansen » at different locations and share some time together, at 320 km/h, that has probably become the fastest ΩF GTG ever so far 😀

Obviously I didn’t bring any other watches whilst traveling beside my favorite 145.022-69 and my girlfriend’s Speedmasters but, as a local, @tamura showed up with some wonderful and rare Seamasters.

A good half an hour ride taking watches and sharing our passion at a very high speed, we didn’t feel the time passing by, it was already time to jump out of the train to continue our own journeys.

Once more, this forum allowed me to meet a collector and a great person who lives thousands of miles away from me and I can’t be thankful enough for that. So far, Japan has been an amazing country for traveling through but I’m very happy to have added a short watch-related chapter to our journey.

Now back to incredible landscapes, gardens and sushis.

Great post. I suppose a super nice 145.022-69 is all you’d ever really need to show up with.

Wow, great story and amazing original diver (marine)!!! looks like its missing the seal skin gaskets... still amazing lust-worthy piece! I've only ever seen one with the seal skin retained and it was on loan from the museum.

This was a short but wonderful meeting. It was really fun we could have traveled together much longer.. 😀
Some flatlink bracelets are gone but a great looking speedy was really worth it.👍
Thanks again kov, and say hello....😉

That (wonderful) Seamaster makes the Speedmaster next to it look small 😀

That Marine would have made my day. I've only ever seen one in the flesh - in a display cabinet at STS ... and Simon wouldn't let me touch it.

Great idea!

That green Cordura strap looks amazing on the Speedmaster! May I ask where you got that?

I got it on another watch. No idea who makes those, sorry, but yes it looks and wears quite good.

You’re not the first to ask where is it from 😜

Since Apollo but are they really members? I don't think they ever chose avatars.

Great story, thanks for sharing. Japan is still on my bucket list. My co-workers are planning a trip right now, and I'm jealous. I'll sure hit up @tamura as well if I ever make it there.

I enjoyed Japan when I visited. The Shinkansen is crazy fast, but the Shinkansen with vintage Omegas? That’s time travel! 😀
