Actually I like the Fratello article because it doesn’t in fact rehash other articles— it conveys info directly from Omega, which is relevant factual info from the direct source.

I would still read it with a bit of reserve, as maybe even Omega don’t have “clean flour in their sack” (old finnish saying) and their view / comments might be a bit skewed when they have a PR issue to resolve.

Would give it time until it all will eventually unravel, as there might be things happening and with involvement even higher up the ladder than their heritage department….

Meanwhile, does the Omega CEO realise that at least half-a-dozen Omega fans are ready to take up a job as unpaid motivated volunteers

IMHO its a signal to the average watch collector to avoid expensive vintage pieces.

Not sure the average watch collector buys anything for 3 million dollars.

Inflation made $3M seem like $300.

For us Omega " Oldtimer's" , that was no surprise. We always knew, that rare vintage Speedmaster parts , that would be replaced during an Factory restoration and the Factory Watchmakers, who did the work on behalf of paying customers, had special parts Bins for the replaced parts , who were not discarded , but inspected by very few employees in charge of the Museum reserve. The rest was always predictable. Just Human nature.

Apple translation for those of us whose German is deficient:

The investigation into the counterfeit 3 million Speedmaster from Omega is ongoing. Now we know: It was not an isolated case After the Speedmaster affair, the Swatch Group filed a criminal complaint against former employees and external persons. The investigations so far suggest that the accused are involved in the trade in many other watches.

For who? I need to move into that economic stratosphere.

I’m going to lock this one and direct discussion to this thread instead, no idea why Phil posted the same thing twice in two separate threads but it’s just messy
