Sweet. I had my eye on this one for awhile but the moonwatch bug hit and I bought two, and soon to get the third.
I absolutely love how clean the white dial speedy pro looks, can’t blame you at all. I think some day down the road Ill go vintage for the all black moon watch

@groodles - Could not be more proud of you! What a nice way to reward yourself for all your hard work and success thus far! You’re a heck of a lot smarter than your old man, that’s for sure! I love this piece, and so pleased for you that you now have it on your wrist! Big congrats Greg!!!

@Larry S - Yes, the Big Eye is most certainly Greg’s one day! 😉

Congratulations and great pick!!! I have the same exact watch and whilst it wasn't my first Omega or even Speedmaster, it will always be my favorite for multiple reasons and definitely never to be sold!!

Was it the larger size that won you over vs the more standard 42mm Moonwatch or something else?

Honestly, I love the moon watches, too. Could definitely see myself getting a vintage speedy professional one day.

What really sold me on this one was is the black and white contrast on the dial without being a traditional panda, or as busy as a daytona. I’m personally a big fan of panda dials, but I have a couple already and wanted something a bit different. When I first saw the piece in person, I found the contrast super clean and the pop of red in the speedmaster text gorgeous. Couldn’t get it out of my head, and now that it’s on my wrist, I can’t stop looking at it. Definitely feel like I made the right choice, so excited to finally own one!

This is my first post here on the forums, but many of you may know my father - @bristnj. Watching him collect was always cool, but I never thought I’d be spending thousands of dollars on these things like he does haha. Well, here I am. I’ve built a modest collection both through gifts from him and my own purchases over the past few years—now in my mid 20s, I was finally able to save enough for my first luxury piece - a racing speedy! I’ve loved this model for a while now, and I’m super excited to finally own one. Thanks for looking, cheers!
Congratulations!

Minor detail here but in case you want to get a leather/rubber strap in the future with colors to match.... that Omega writing is actully orange! Lol.

I only say that becuase I've been mulling over getting a grey leather strap with either orange leather on the underside and/or orange stitching.

Thanks for the call out! I honestly just love it having a subtle pop of color in general, but definitely good to know. A leather strap with orange stitching could look badass for sure

Very nice as a first watch. Also nice as an only watch.
Thanks! Would call this my first luxury watch (at least that I’ve purchased myself 😂), but I do have a few others as well - a bulova devil diver, vintage tradition poor man’s heuer, seiko 5, a vintage premira, etc. Wish this was my only watch, but unfortunately I’ve already caught the bug… hah!

Agreed! It’s been in my wrist every day since I’ve bought it haha.
