Test for everyone. Is this an omega redial ?

The quickest "tells" are always the sub dial print and the Seamaster / Omega font.
Your sub dial indices are too long and off center. Once I see this (and am looking for an original dial), I simply move on.
How about the other one?

Looks original to me.

I am still new at this but in the subdial I see a gap between the markers and the indent at the top of the dial and no gap at the bottom. Is this tiny variation ok, or an effect of the angle at which the photo was taken?

Just wrong

script too close to the symbol.

How about you tell us what’s wrong. Seems we are doing your homework again.🤦

Well some points to consider:
Seamaster dial:
1. The S is from another era, and the “r” faints.
2. Between 5 and 7 the minute markers also faint too much.
3. The seconds markets in the sundial are misplaced and not aligned.

The plain omega dial:
1. Omega is too close to Ω.
2. The seconds markers are not aligned good.
I can’t find other problems. So I would say this is a far better work

It should be as obvious to you as identifying which one of the images below is the photo of Emma Stone and which is the drawing of that photo

This is a really good comparison, I understand what you mean. Every now and then, I’m also looking at dials and figuring out echter it is a redial or not. Topics like this, with examples help me a lot. But in de the end it’s hard to describe and explains why the drawn picture of Emma is drawn and not a photo.

I did it sometimes in the past in order to give a better look to my watches(I was ignorant at that times). Now I find it too time consuming, too expensive and worthless. I Never buy omegas with ruined dials now .I sold all my redialed watches but I always informed the buyer that that the dials were redone.

It wasn't that long ago it was standard practice to "refresh" the dials when the watch went in for service. There used to be 2 companies in Dallas alone that did nothing but Rolex dials.
This is why original and untouched has become so desirable.

However when you buy a watch you will almost never have the opportunity to compare it with an original.
How do you know? You sound like an experienced watch buyer? Are you a seller maybe?
Or someone trying to figure out how to make redials which will not be spotted so easily?

I think this is a digitally manipulated image. the black text looks 'off'. I think someone has comped this image together & pasted the text from another image. When I zoom in, I see slight differences between the background of the text & the dial. This makes me suspect that the black text is a layer that has been placed on top of the dial image. The feathering in the top layer looks off.

Very suspect mate.

@Kargol The thread mentions| "Test for everyone" That implies that you may have expected a one eyed blind man to say it is not a redial. It also begs critique, and mine would be......... "the redial is a flunk-out" To me it looks like icing on a Ritz cracker.

I am just a collector. I gave up on buying questionable omegas long ago. As a friend previously said if you are not sure don’t buy except if you like the outcome. In my case my dials were so bad that I wanted to redial them .

No my friend you are wrong. That’s a photo I took holding the dial when I got it from the post office .
