Always thought FAA was headed for the top table. Hope CDN-AUS relations will remain cordial!

Well, since that is the make-up of our household, there was an opportunity for things to get tense between me and the Mrs (since she is from Australia and is a dual citizen). However, she calls de Minaur "little rat man" so she is not really a fan of his for some reason I guess. 馃榿

So we were united in our desire to see Canada win this one.

I am considering getting one of these if another comes up for a similar or lower price. This also came as a Red Barron model. I suspect these use the same eb bettlach 8800 movement, of which I have way to many useless spare parts.

Also got a Lucy, but that will be another thread.
Now I have to wait for them to arrive ...

I grew up in San Antonio, TX and played practically every day. Local high schools had courts with lights, and since it was so hot all day we wouldn't even go out to play until late at night. Alamo Heights High School had one of the best facilities, and if you didn't bring a playing partner then you would just take a seat in the bleachers alongside the courts and wait for another single to come along. I have great memories of the still, quiet of summer midnights broken only by the sounds of tennis 馃榾

Really enjoying Coco Gauff vs Sofia Kenin at Wimbledon right now. Two of America's finest. But - anyone else going off Kenin when she routinely celebrates her opponent's unforced errors? She's better than that, surely. Or is it OK these days?

Rainy couple of days at Wimbledon, but great to see Milos the Missile back in action after 2 years away from the courts. Win today in 4 sets and adds another 28 aces to his lifetime count!

I watch tennis intermittently but have to say the Wimbledon mens final is a cracker. The womens final was unfortunately a damp squib.

Great match up - irresistible force Djoko vs immovable object Alcaraz. Just seen a 10th deuce point - I need to lie down!

I once had a 21 minute service game in a match...they have beaten that one and it鈥檚 still not over!

Yes indeed!!
Great to see the next gen succeeding! Hopefully Sinner can get motivated by such achievement, and start a rivalry 馃榾

Carlos's, variety, touch, power are wonderful to behold. And he usually deploys his arsenal with really mature restraint and discretion - how can he be just 20??
As for athleticism, I just heard a commentator say now Nole knows what it's like playing himself!
He's clearly capable of hitting consistently much flatter than Nadal too, so the power that wins on clay wth rpm can also be used on grass to win with mph. I think next gen is here alright. Djoko will win more majors too, so the next couple of years will be vintage!

One of the best finals I've seen in some time. Both players hit some incredible shots. Could've gone either way. What an epic battle.

I've been watching Wimbledon since the 70s when I was in my teens. Waking up early (8am was early on Sunday when you were that young) to watch the finals. Today's match was outstanding, especially the 2nd set. Both my boys played tennis in HS and I loved watching them play and enjoy the game. Lots of memorable July battles over the years. Another classic added today.

.. I just wished the women's final would have been the best of five sets, I genuinely think Ons could have fought back..
I don't understand why there isn't parity in the women's game, it would be so much better??
