"Is the Speedmaster Reduced a good size for people who have smaller then normal bowel movements? I tried a Ploprof once, and the size mismatch really threw off my daily cycle."

Though I've never agreed with the idea "there are no stupid questions," I do agree that savaging those who ask what many believe to be stupid questions to be in poor form. The exception would be if there is a person who asks silly questions regularly in order to be a crank. I saw a thread recently about how often it's ok to wind a Speedmaster. If that guy truly doesn't know and is concerned, he shouldn't be shamed for his ignorance. I'm pretty sure we are all ignorant, only on different subjects, to quote Will Rogers. In the movie "Harvey," with the guy who says he has an 8 ft rabbit (pooka) friend, Elwood P. Dowd says,“In this world, you must be oh so smart, or oh so pleasant. Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant.” I don't always live up to that ideal, but I am trying.

@chiswick may I suggest you just edit the title thread to Speedy Toilet Humour, so the more infantile among us (me included) can carry on with our silly puns as we wait for the new Omega / Blancpain / GO / Breguet releases on May 14th, without provoking any offense to the PC thought police on the OF.

There are clearly opportunities for comments on the use of "hand wound movements", for example, which I believe have not yet been fully explored to their full playground potential.

I do feel that your title thread was a bit too harsh in tone, but I do agree that sometimes many of us do feel frustrated with the apparent laziness of some posts asking seemingly "obvious" questions before even attempting a minimum OF or google search.

It’s people that ask stupid questions then debate nice and correct answers.

When an accountant asks “how often should I wind my Speedmaster” we may laugh; when an astronaut asks the same question we pause, weigh the risks and give a considered answer.

As an aerospace engineer I find that stupid questions are often the most insightful into my false assumptions about others experiences and capabilities. I try to pay close attention to stupid questions on the ground, as the answers sometimes prevent stupid outcomes in the air.

Some Stupid Questions below....best sung with a rousing melody in a major key, sort of a Book of Mormon mix....

Why is there so much hate?
Why is there no more loooooooove?
Why don't the flowers grow?
Why does the grey market hurt?

Why can't we just delete this whole thread?
Why can't we just all go home?
Well we are all so bloody tired,
Waiting for the Swatch to strike the GONG....

May 14th is finally here, I've waded through so many posts,
My mind is mush, my fingers bleed, Archer's gone...I feel so ALOOOOONE!!!!!

Chorus

SOOOO WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY OMEEEEEEGA?
DID YOU TEASE US SO, WITH GOLDEN STATUES, NEWSPAPER JUNKIES AND SOCIAL MEDIA

All together now...

OOOOH WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY OMEEEEEEGA?
DID YOU TEASE US SO, WITH GOLDEN STATUES, NEWSPAPER JUNKIES AND SOCIAL MEDIA

I NEEED to KNOW,
Will the Bezel Moonshine GLOW?

Will the SQUIRREL be my friend?
Now we are near the tragic end...

Whimper and fade....

But...did I leave it all too late.
Was there moondust on the plate?
Was the co-axial just a hoax?
Was the Aldrin just a Buzz?

This one sounds like it could be a MAJOR HIT... those lyrics...👍 ..great 60's nonsensical psychedelia...

'Please, please me' by singing your song to the melody you proposed and post it straight away to YouTube... or just Omega-Tube,
but just Do it!!
You can actually do it without video if you'd rather not go IG - viral...🍿

I'm hiring a singing coach and some tighter underpants right away...not sure you can find both on Amazon for one Prime guaranteed delivery, but I will do my best.

Well Sytre, forgive me, I do feel extremely puerile posting this after your "dressing down", but too late, I've pressed the fire button, torpedoes away...
Dear @Riviera Paradise, no offense taken and none intended on my part, it was all in good cheer on my end 😉

Can I wear my moonwatch whilst using the toilet?

You could, but it's risky. The Speedy is the least water resistant watch ever made. I see people on here daily destroy them by accidentally wearing it whilst washing dishes... I mean I'm scared to even wear mine outside in light drizzle type rain incase a droplet touches it.

If it falls into the toilet, game over.

Probably best to invest in a Ploprof for toilet use.

An old shellback Chief told me many many years ago...............

"There are no stupid questions son, only stupid f*ckin' answers!".

I haven't checked back through here to see if this pearl of wisdom has already been mentioned, so if it has, ignore my repetition.

The real problem about other people’s stupidity is that
1/ stupid questions are not a crime;
2/ being mean is much worse than being stupid;
and 3/ no one can be sure their own questions or comments are less stupid than everybody else’s.
And of course 4/ if you were so smart perhaps you might find better uses for your time than spending it discussing stupid questions on a watch forum?
That

I wasn’t going to comment but what the hell. I’m sure the OP was serious when posting the question. Instead of being mean which we have enough of in this world right now, don’t comment or better still: take your erudite knowledge and educate a noobie. I am amazed at the pure meanest of some of the people on this forum. As a noobie myself but quick study, I have been subjected to some of the snarky comments. Remember, we cannot all be filled with the vast knowledge you have accrued over your years of meddling in the hobby. Be kind. Share your knowledge. If you cannot do either, then perhaps be quiet. Honestly, if you expect people to be attracted to the hobby and enjoy it, pay it forward. My .02 and I am sure someone will rip me a new hole over it because it’s what some people do here.
