I'm here again offering my Gallet multichron Clamshell with a stunning two-tone, 3 register dial and a Venus 152 movement. I purchased this watch two years ago and have enjoyed it quite a bit in the time, but decided to release it as part of my larger sell-off to focus on some other interests.

The clamshell case measures 34.6mm, wears a little bigger due to the lugs and pushers (my wrist is ~ 7 inches to give you a sense). It is super sharp and I don't think ever polished. You can clearly see the facet lines on each lug still. Some minor scratches between the lugs and general signs of wear, but nothing crazy.

The dial is also in terrific condition with no major flaws to report. There are some very very minor signs of wear from just being old if you zoom in really closely, but it is not something you'll notice.

In the right lighting, the two-tone dial really comes out, and paired with the blue steel hands makes this one of the nicest watches I've had the pleasure of owning. I hope the photos below show off what the dial looks like in different angles / conditions.

The Gallet signed Venus 152 movement was serviced I think ~3 - 4 years ago, but still running fine. Everything is functioning well; like I said I wear this one relatively frequently and have never noticed anything wrong with it.

I believe the crown and crystal were replaced by the previous owner at some point. The lug width is 18mm.

It is a little difficult to price this one; I'm tentatively asking $7,150 (Now: $6,150) including FedEx / ParcelPro shipping worldwide. I'll gladly hear out all offers from interested parties.

I may entertain trades here; no promises, but shoot things my way.

I can include a bracelet or strap or ship it head only, your call (but be warned my bracelets and straps are perfectly sized for my wrist 😀).

Based on some of the trade offers I got (which I turned down in favor of making this a straight sale), I'm going to lower the ask to $6,150 or somewhere thereabouts. Like I said it is a little hard to price given its rarity (it's one of the few Venus 152 powered Gallets, and clamshells), but I'm open to offers ☕

This appears to be the same design as the Eterna clamshell tanks that I’ve seen. If that is correct, the screws secure the case back to the mid case.

Yeah, as mentioned, it is used to secure the caseback and was a design for waterproofness.

If you google Schmitz Freres Brev. 189190 you will find the patent for this type of waterproof case design.

I believe Gallet purchased the rights to this patent in the mid 30s if memory serves and a lot of their chronographs make use of it. It’s kinda cool because you’ll see Brevet 189190 stamped on the inner caseback 😀. The cross symbol is the Swiss Federal Cross, indicating the swiss patent.
