Strap suggestions for Tudor Sub

Having just acquired this beautiful Lollipop, I am thinking I would like to preserve the band and use a strap. Leather is my preference, but I haven't seen any pictures that really do it for me.

Any forum members have some pictures of their own they would like to share?

Leather on a diver's watch? Only if you don't plan on wearing the watch in water. Rubber? Maybe! Nylon? Maybe! Your call.

You can't go past the Admiralty Grey Phoenix for the Military look. The faded look of you sub would match nicely.

Good point, but at 30 years old, it is not going in water.

I love ghost bezels, they can pretty much match with any color straps... nice piece!

I get mine from the UK MOD supplier. Go onto eBay and you can search for 'Genuine Phoenix Straps MOD UK', seller Mickie500. He normally has a range of colours and sizes.

Cheers,

Thanks Jim,

I just re-purchased this 1978 Lollipop last week. She's rejoined the 'crew'. It is a RCN Tudor that is actually supposed to have Snowflake hands, but I believe on the last service, the watchmakers must have been out so they installed the Lollipop hour and seconds hand.

Cheers,
Buster

My sub or emilio's? Mine came from a trustworthy Sydney dealer who said he bought it from the original australian owner 5 years ago and has been sitting in his safe since. Minor signs of wear. Never polished. Probable newish crystal as it looks too good to be original.

Goes on pretty much any strap IMO - not a bracelet guy so mine is always on a strap, and yes some leather (shock and horror!!)....

Have it on this leather NATO right now and love it:

Cheers, Al

Man, the leather nato looks PERFECT with the Lollipop. Also, did you intentionally do the "smiley face" with the hands for the pic, or was that purely serendipitous?

Thank you all. Nato it is then. I have a few on order in fabric like RCAFBuster, but might go looking for a leather one. I did find this Heureville in the drawer that looks ok. IMHO it is too busy when combined with the (fairly) busy look of the Sub and something plainer will work better

Agreed ^ but color is great, esp. with the stitching detail. Get rid of the holes and it'd be pretty nice, though I'd still prefer a NATO or tropic

Definitely can't do a rally strap on a diver.
Yes, my apologies. i know it is a crime against nature, but it was the best I could find in the box. Have ordered one in this colour (no holes!) with blue stitching.

Following the good advice here, and proofing that I can take advice, I have bought a few NATOs from Mickie 500 on eBay. Great quality, prompt service and the price was fine. Admiralty Grey is fantastic as suggested by RCAF Buster, but the Bond looks pretty fine as well. Thanks for the advice
