Without more pics and a gander at the movement it's all a bit of a guess. You've posted 482 times so you must know your onions a bit;
Mid 60's (?) Seamaster Deville ..Stainless Steel case, non original strap, possible original crown (from what I can tell from the pics).Original dial (i think) in good shape...What do you think it's worth?
Posting 482 times is a measure of how chatty I am and how many questions I have, not how knowledgable I am. I've got into watches relatively recently and have been a member here for less than a year.

I think this must be a 165.0033 or a 165.002 but I can't be sure. I'm thinking that if I'm going to bid on this it won't be more than about £300 given the risks. Add £250 to that for a service that will probably include some parts and if I can get away with the thing running well and looking good for £550 I will have done OK. That said, unless I see images of the movement I'd probably be wise to pass on it.

It’s a $500 US or a touch more watch all day long in condition it’s in

And 9/10 your not going to see a movement on a front loader as no one is going to be able to quickly pop a case back off.

It’s worth a bid with correct crown and all.

Here is a heap of references for price

You are probably on the money re purchase price ( 2 years ago probably nearer 200-240) 250 for a service does strike me as a lot for a watch with no complications... shop around for a watchmaker to do it nearer 150 ukp

I think the basic service would be that much with my watchmaker, but I’m factoring in parts because the watch has been neglected.

The one I’m looking at is an automatic, not hand wound. Does that make much of a difference?

I'm curious about this Seamaster Deville and am wondering what that mess is between the bottom lugs. I assume it's superficial given that this is stainless steel, but it looks worrying. What do people think it is?
Use some of this

Not overly, just giving you info.
Not my expertise but there is hundreds of threads on these, probably the most common watch a newbie looks at getting into vintage at the shallow end of the Seamaster pool.

I’m more of a lug liker In the deep end of the pool.

Can’t beat a large caseback logo.

the facets on the front of the lugs are nice and sharp. Often these are polished to toothpicks.
