STP1-11 and the Zodiac Sea Wolf..any experience?

Hello.
I'm quite tempted by the "re-issued" Zodiac Sea Wolf (photo below) which comes with Fossil's STP movement, an apparent cloned ETA 2824. I've read some reasonable comments on the quality of the movement, Fossil attempts to more formally ingratiate themselves within the Swiss community (new offices, investment etc).
I was wondering if any members had any experience of the movement, as it's difficult finding actual owners who might have a view.
I appreciate there are those who don't like the faux history of the brand, don't like the Fossill parentage, can't find clear points of sale, and view pricing as too high.
But, I think they look great and a few reviews have been quite positive.
Any feedback from owners/those in the know would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I bought a Fossil FSW1007 over the summer and posted about it here

My experience has been stellar, for the price paid (about the same as a Seiko) its impressive!

Timekeeping has been excellent, power reserve quite good and the finish is pleasant if not overwhelming

Nice like the bracelet on that one too, now you just need to track down the original to go with it

I have the red bezel version. All and all I like it. There are things I dislike, but the positives outweigh the negatives. My 3 biggest gripes are 1.) unsigned crown. At the price point a logo on the crown seems doable. 2.) the bezel feels a little wobbly. 3.) back to the crown, it just doesn't feel sturdy when setting the time.

The movement itself runs about +7 seconds a day. I don't think my power reserve is quite as high as the manufacturer claims. It seems to run out of juice after about 30 hours.

I have to agree with most of this.

A signed crown would really have been a great addition. And I have play in my bezel as well. After some asking around this play seems to be a consistent factor in all models. I also love the black sunburst finish on the dial. This truly gives the watch a lot of character.

I'm timing consistently at +7 and have approximately 32 hour power reserve(I believe it's supposed to be 36?)

I don't feel that I have any crown issues, no instability or wiggle room at all on my end. Hope it's nothing major for you

No, it's nothing major. It just doesn't feel as nice as I believe it should. I really don't know how to explain it I guess.

I think you just explained it. For the premium they are asking you expect a certain quality product. And these little details are where it shows.

Agree with all three!

Think the reserve is more....reliability though is the most important, IMO. The finish is a little basic but think it's a fun watch and you don't come across too many!
