    As some of you may have seen, I bought recently this St DuPont watch:

    From what little info I managed to gather, this watch is from the 80’s and it’s from the Chinese lacquer series. I bought it with box and papers and the seller told me that these watches were sold new for about 2000€ when new.

    St DuPont is of course well known for it’s lighters and pens( I had a Chinese lacquer lighter which was very high quality but since I don’t smoke I sold it). I had a look at St DuPont’s website and it has watches for sale, but in my opinion they are simple monstrosities especially compared with this elegant watch. So does anyone know anything more about St DuPont watches; What do you think about this watch and generally for these watches;

    1980's is right timeframe, I have three Dupont lacquer writing instruments bought in the mid-80's, and I remember seeing that style watch, often with a lacquered dial.
