It probably will go for that, but it's likely a franken.
Gold medals match up with gold filled cases.
Steel cases have steel backs without the gold.

Not true.

The Ref. 14XXX series (of which this is an example) have gold medallions on steel and gold capped cases. These watches did not come with "gold-filled" cases.

Wow. So much to learn in this hobby!

So, if it is not a Franken, is it worth USD $1500?

OK, one more try. It is a good thing I had today off to read through that redial thread. I think the dial on this Guilloche Pie Pan Ref 2852 (Cal 501) is not a redial. Anyone disagree? He is asking USD $1700.

Huh. I very likely may be wrong. I thought I read here somewhere that the top of the A should be chopped, but perhaps that is specific to a reference. Yours sure does look exactly like the other one..

The Gs look pretty different between these 2

Hi,

First serious foray on here, so opening myself up for slaughter but, What's the deal with the spelling of Chronometer? I see different spellings (er - re).

Ah, Ive done a search and see it was a change in the early 1960's. Is that right?

No watch in this thread has been a redial. A whole lot of misinformation though.

If that isn't your watch, why are you using it as your profile picture?
