Speedy Tuesday - a dissenting view?

I always find it weird to see watches without a trace of brown paired with a brown strap.

The brown strap combo with a black reverse panda dial is actually quite common (see below)...I think it helps warm up the watch and create contrast (random pics on the Internet)...

The black snoopy strap offers a great sporty and streamlined look. I think the ST looks great with the brown strap in @mpcdude's photo, but I have not seen it live.

The ST is a professional, not a FOIS case.
Well hell then I'm totally offbase. Could have sworn I read it was in the smaller case. Didn't dig in that much as didn't buy one anyway. I'm probably confusing this with the 57 reissue. Thanks for the correct info!

The ST uses the same case as the pro so I am not sure what you mean.

EDIT: Lizards type fast!
Indeed.

Yeah it works, I think the problem with the included ST strap is it just isn't very nice and looks more faux leather than a nice quality vintage /distressed leather. The colour isn't quite right either for me. Mind you I've only seen pics so far, but I've certainly never been keen on it from what I've seen so far.

Otherwise, we could see a situation where products do well, even if mediocre, because of noisy, proactive advocates who influence sheep-like consumers;

@davy26, what do you mean "could" - that is exactly where we are and precisely why companies are buying the services of "influencers".

A couple of days after I made my ST reservation, I handed over my -64 Ed White to the watchmaker for service. I knew he was busy, he knows I am patient.

The ST's are being delivered, I got my Ed White back from SPA today...

I still have to wait for my ST since I haven't got anything else than the generic emails everybody got, but I am really looking forward to compare the emotions when it will get on my wrist with the emotions I've had today... 😀

Still haven't seen one in the metal, but I do like the way they look in people's photos! I was hoping to able to get one to pair with my CK2998, which I thought would make a great panda/reverse panda combo, but alas, by the time I found out about it they were all spoken for.

I don't have an ST reservation and certainly can't afford one at current prices. However, like others I had plans of adding an FOIS to my collection this year just based on how it looked online. Luckily I finally have a new AD in my area so I was able to try on a few watches and I was surprised how once it was on my wrist it just seemed...small. Compared to the speedy pro it seemed to lack the presence I expected it to have.. Side by side it just looked not as strong and on the strap it was so light compared to the pro on the bracelet. Now I'm changed to wanting to add the Pro to my collection Instead. Knowing the ST is the same size as the FOIS I'd expect to feel the same way. Just don't think the reverse panda would be enough to change my thinking...not that it matters anyway! But who knows...if I put it on my wrist I could feel totally different and want to track one down secondhand once I hit the lottery!

Interesting. I tried on a FOIS and a Speedy Pro at the same time at the boutique and I felt the difference in size while on the wrist was pretty tough to spot. I prefer the FOIS and absolutely love mine. I was drawn to it because of the size. I'm also looking forward to my 60th Anniversary Speedy in part for that same reason. That said I wouldn't rule out a Speedy Tuesday or Speedy Pro based on size.

Very nice, I hate the waiting around, mine has been with Simon Freese for 4 weeks now, so should be getting it back soon. He did say 3 to 4 weeks.

damn! you just made me think about this great duo: ST and CK2998 - speedy pro and FOIS cases...both limited - just realised it would be great speedmaster choice! I'm eagerly awaiting my ST, so cannot afford both watches now 😀

I missed the initial release by hours and was a little bit miffed. However the more I looked at photos, the less I felt bad. Then they announced the 60th and it was love at first sight.

A couple of weeks ago, I was offered the ST at a price point between the MSRP and what they're going for on the secondary market. I thought this was fair but at the same time, it felt too much for a watch that didn't excite me. Sure, there's a lot of hype and rightly so, but the true gem in the lineup this year is the 60th IMO.

Have you seen the ST live and compared it the 60th? I just did that during a visit to the Vancouver OB and reached the opposite conclusion: the ST looks much, much more interesting than the 60th...I would almost call the 60th "bland" in comparison. Again I know this is all subjective personal taste, but I was just wondering if you had based your opinion on a live comparison of the two Speedy LE models.

No you could be right. I'm going off images due to the lack of any retail roadshows in my area so I should reserve judgement I suppose. However, I prefer watches to have at least a bit of shine to them, and the ST wouldn't give me that.

Seriously, they made a limited edition to celebrate five years of an internet forum thread topic??? They are running out of ideas!!! The only speedy with any class is the original pro model, sorry!

Little more then that actually... might be an internationally adopted movement across all social media, by a website that helped create the renaissance of the Speedy Pro with that.

Another one listed tonight on TZ for £7.4k and a fair amount of abuse being thrown around.

Interesting change of direction, the last few sold fairly quickly.
