Speedy Tuesday - a dissenting view?

If you mean UK, it's the same watch sold twice and I think the only one that was actually in possession when sold.

I agree with your opinion. I always find it weird to see watches without a trace of brown paired with a brown strap.

Another one received and placed straight on Sales Corner on TZ. That's three out of three received and put up for sale. Does anyone actually intend keeping this watch?

As long as I can afford to pay for it when it arrives, then yes.

It won't be staying on either of the straps that it comes with though.

The straps never came out of the roll for me - the NATO too garish for me and the leather was decent but for me the wrong colour/finish - simply not as good as many aftermarket ones.

I've got the black leather with white stitching 'Bob' strap and deployant (poor man's Snoopy set up) ready. Just need the ST to go with it. Haven't heard anything from Omega for ages.

A huge amount will have been bought just to flip and there will be those who reserved the watch and don't like it when it arrives.

The market will calm down in a few months.

I got to handle a couple of the pre-production models on the NATO, and really couldn't (and still can't) understand why the watch was presented in this way.

If they're going for the Alaska 3/1970s NASA feel (which is what got my attention), then why not a solid black nato, with black fabric keepers, and a brushed buckle?

More details please, too vague for those that missed it.

I tried one in person and it blew my mind on how good it looks in person.

I am still waiting on mine but to be honest I have to say the more pictures I see of it posted on forums the more I think I will pass it on.

I will pass final judgement when I finally hold it in my hands but I prefer the look of the vanilla Speedmaster to be honest.

Pinched photo below shows the watch on the Snoopy black Sailcloth type strap and deployant which many agree is probably the best configuration so far for this watch. These can be ordered from Omega, but are not cheap.

The alternative is the Waccex, which can be ordered for about €80 for the strap and deployant. Hence a poor man's Snoopy set up.

I agree that the strap choices they provide are awful. There is simply no way I would ever in a million years consider the black and white Nato.
Overall nice review. Considering the hype, it has a lot to live up to...

I have the same setup waiting for my #ST whenever it arrives. You would think #17 might be here soon.

It would just be nice to be told anything, even if they said August or even September then we would know. It feels like we have been forgotten, whilst others have had and even sold theirs on. Where's mine...

I was told when I asked that mine was unlikely to arrive before August so the rollout will be ongoing for at least another month, maybe two.

They have said multiple times that they are not being produced in order.

I don't have an ST reservation and certainly can't afford one at current prices. However, like others I had plans of adding an FOIS to my collection this year just based on how it looked online. Luckily I finally have a new AD in my area so I was able to try on a few watches and I was surprised how once it was on my wrist it just seemed...small. Compared to the speedy pro it seemed to lack the presence I expected it to have.. Side by side it just looked not as strong and on the strap it was so light compared to the pro on the bracelet. Now I'm changed to wanting to add the Pro to my collection Instead. Knowing the ST is the same size as the FOIS I'd expect to feel the same way. Just don't think the reverse panda would be enough to change my thinking...not that it matters anyway! But who knows...if I put it on my wrist I could feel totally different and want to track one down secondhand once I hit the lottery!

The ST is a professional, not a FOIS case.

The ST uses the same case as the pro so I am not sure what you mean.

EDIT: Lizards type fast!
