Wow. Speaking of an ill-described auction. Most ‘interesting’ 145.014 Mark II I’ve seen in a while...

The watch itself raises a lot of questions too. For starters, the centers of the hands are black as they should be on this one, however, the hour hand looks too short and stubby to my eyes. Perhaps Mark II service parts?

Oh, and as a little bonus it comes on a 1450/808 bracelet. 😀

An interesting watch, that sold at about the right price, given the risk reward.

The appearance is not that unusual - I believe this is the specification that Omega in Switzerland serviced the grey racings to for a while. That is with MkII hands (fatter than original).I have seen at least two so far.

The dial looks original.

Things to be concerned about are that the movement relates to a grey racing via an extract. I used to be right at the front of the gambling pack for a watch like this, but without even a shot of the movement, it was too rich for me.

Fine examples of these watches are trading (still!) at $70,000. What gets between that valuation and this watch are, the hands (try finding the original spec hands), the poor bezel, and the un verified movement.

Still, these are very, very rare watches. I dont criticise the buyer at all.

Potential problems aside, it sure is an attractive looking watch imo.

Hi,
between the bezel and the glass I see dirty or is just wear? If it's dirty, Why not clean a so beautiful piece of a watch?

Like most people who saw that, was secretly hoping it would go under the radar. Clearly not the case!
