Yes you did unfortunately. It was a really nice watch in need of a service. The auction house is 30 minutes from me so I regularly go to their sales

I was watching that one, and had registered, and nearly pulled the trigger. Looked great with all the gunk but I wasn't too sure about the lume from the photos as it looked a bit too neat , or is that the problem with reading all the posts on here ? As I live miles away was too timid to press the bid button on an watch I hadn't actually handled. Not sure if I'm regretting not bidding now.

Looks like a very honest watch.

Ha, yes it I think you may well have picked up ‘the fear’ from reading too many posts here! Not too much trickery going on with the 70’s Speedies yet, although we still need to remain vigilant. This one has all the hallmarks of an honest piece.

Meant to say wasn't too sure about the different shade of one of the sub dial hands, then again I guess it's hard not to be too picky when looking at spending a large amount of cash over the internet .

Must stop looking at auction sites should be the new mantra. Then again .......... where's the fun in that

Suppose I can't be too upset as I can still look at this one I bought 2 years ago at auction, 145.022-71 , but this one I did get to handle before bidding

Was looking at it also, looks like a genuine, solid piece sold for a good price.
