If you mainly dressing casual on the daily, then the A8 will not look out of place. It's a big, bold watch which is a statement piece. If you can pull off the 44+ size and 15+ thick watch, go for it. If you're looking for an everyday watch which will go from casual to dress, the White Dial Speedmaster might fit the bill better. Just depends on your lifestyle.

I tried a few different Speedmaster Racing and the DSOTM, but can't pull the size. Have other Speedmasters so it's a personal preference.

The Apollo DSOTMs clock at 13.8 mm and 13 mm- significantly more manageable thicknesses than the standard DSOTM.

Ceramic fear mongering aside, I'd still pick the white speedy out of the two. Its more versatile in size and aesthetic.

If you already have the Yin, may as well buy the Yang

I owned the A8 watch for a while. It is a fabulous piece, very unique, I thought the rubber strap with the yellow stitching was a great match to it, and I just could not deal with the enormous size. But that's a personal failing, since I have small wrists.

So for me, today, it would be the white Speedy.

Ideally of course, you would have both.

It's a false choice. Go classics, black dial 3861. Just choose between hesalite and sapphire. So you won't regret it in a few years.

If you can only have one Speedy, the original one. With a 321, so either the modern remake or an old one to save money.
That aside, I have an A8 as well as a few more sides of the moon and love the ceramic. Indestructible, always looking brand new and the A8 is really different. Refrained to buy the white one as I have the classic white ones, it has the wrong movement imho and adds no real value.
