I’ve got quite a few bracelets inc 2 gen’, some Uncle Seiko and a Forstner mesh. Love the latest 3261 bracelet with the new clasp but still looking around. Happened upon this Speidel Twist-O-Flex and must say it is THE most comfy bracelet to date. Gives the Speedy a nice retro look and at €35 is a complete bargain! what do you all think?

I thought Twist-O-Flex sawed on watch lugs. The few used watches I have rescued from being gnawed on by Twist-O-Flex bands seemed to exhibit indications of the ordeal.

Is that not so? Or, no longer so?

They probably do BUT for the amount of time I wear this watch I’ll accept it. It -took 25 years of 365 days a year to wear metal away on my Sub’ bracelet and I think I’ll be beyond caring at that point and that’s if I make another 25!

It's an issue of time & case material really.
As @nobbylon says: infrequent use likely won't be a problem.
Decades of daily wear? yeah it'll cause damage.
I'd never use spring-loaded ends with a solid gold case though.
Love a Speidel Twisto-Flex, wearing one right now.
Some people say they pull hairs, I've never had that problem and I have fairly hairy wrists.
I think it might be an issue of correct sizing.

Reminds me of those wrist hair puller stretchy bracelets from back in the 80's.

And the 60`s all my male relatives wore their watches on those elastic bracelets.

PS. Stange how us Seamster guys love the "Speedy" bracelet, but you Speedy guys likes to replace them. Is it because the "Speedy" bracelet is newer that the Speedy? Anyways the vintage look achieved and the bracelet looks really good.

The problem with the later 1861 speedy bracelets is they are too chunky and untapered. They just dont suit the watch. They’ve finally got it right with the latest bracelet.

I agree that the Speedy 3861 bracelet is better than the 1861 bracelet. I'm 90% happy with it. If it had 1 more micro adjustment and had a 20mm-16mm taper instead of a 20mm-15mm taper, it would be perfect. To me, 15mm is starting to get a little dainty. But it's mainly the micro adjustment, as my wrist swells/shrinks 1/2 inch.
