I am not sure you guys are looking hard enough, thinking, and comparing with the market.

Especially the Ed White, which is essentially a papered 105.003 without a dial.

I could be wrong, in which case I will look an idiot.

I am not saying these are fine watches. But they are Speedmasters that are for sale, that are not complete put togethers or frauds. I dont think!!

Well said! I don't think any of us would accuse WoK of putting Frankens up for sale, or deliberately concealing material facts... and, like you say, they are watches for sale and the market will decide if the price estimates are low-ball, wishful thinking or on the money.

But for all of us who do know a little bit about Speedmasters (and with a great debt to MWO and your goodself, William, and www.speedmaster101.com), ask yourselves this - do you think the same standards of selection and description will apply across all of the other lots in the auction that you might like the look of but don't know much about?

How do they constantly get so many watches up for auction? I think their "stock" improves year by year...
(edit: their stock, not the condition of the stock)

Excluding the Ed-White, there is something about the consistency of the sharpness of every single watches case that gives me the feeling they may come from a singular collector...::stirthepot::

Actually I think they come from the West London trade. I think they have a supply of straps, too.
I think a large proportion of the offereings are from the trade.
But I do not know.

Being an old Chelsea boy, I've been spending a lot of time in West London in recent months @eugeneandresson...😕 I hope you don't think they have come from my extensive collection of Speedmasters???😁

Always figured you had more than the one Speedy we have grown to love hidden away deep behind the bollocks where not even the Peruanah/sharks could find them...😝...

Yep! And I applaud your dicernment @eugeneandresson. My quest for horological excellence goes on undeterred by the wind and blizzards that have turned the UK into a 'snowy wasteland' resembling 'fakkin' Narnia! I am up to 5 now! My favourite is the one on the right.🥰 I shall be, back in my home town, attending the 17/3/18 WofK auction on the hunt for one handed pocket watches and yet another guitar shaped, horological treasure.

Not a very attractive bunch they have for sale.
The early -69 looks promising although it looks like the chrono hand is bended...

I'm pretty sure that the early 69 is a nice tropical dial which must look very attractive in person. Not sure about the bezel, but it looks more like gunk than damage ?
It looks like someone puked on the 105.003 dial, but in a weird way, I like it 😲

Hello everyone, I am new member and excited to join. Can anyone estimate on how much this watch is worth?

I think with the continuing uptick in prices, people who’ve been sitting on stuff are finally coming forward to sell, including marginal stuff that would have been difficult to move five years ago.

‘Can anyone estimate on how much this watch is worth?’

I inherited this watch and I believe this is a 145.022-71
According to your other thread, $100k

He already has. It’s the one about getting multiple offers of $80k and more.

Stealth salesman with novel approach.

As my dear grandma used to say:" believing is what we do in church boy, out here we want facts."

I just updated the top post with the hammer prices and final £ $ and € amounts. I wasn't watching the auction so don't know how far up lots 198 and 200 got; I'd presume that for WoK, the low end of the estimate might be the reserve price... did anyone else spot how the bidding went?

Sorry to be an uninformed 'divv' but may ask; is "final" price the "hammer" price plus commission? ... or am I up the wrong road?😟

Results are here https://watchesofknightsbridge.com/wp-content/uploads/AuctionResults17thMarch2018.pdf
It seems both 198 and 200 were not sold (since they're not on the list)

Correct, though doesn't include delivery or any other customs charges etc that might be levied for overseas buyers...
