Speedmaster triple day date with black crescent

Hi,
I have a pre-owned Omega Speedmaster triple day date bought some year ago. I noticed that the same model I saw on the internet came with a red crescent for the date indicator but mine was black. I was wondering if someone could help if the black crescent was a correct version or did the previous owner changed the indicator?

Appreciate any help or reply. Thanks.

The silver dial version is the only one I've seen so far with the black crescent.
Perhaps the hands have been swapped for some odd reason.

Thanks. My friend said it might be a older model that is why it is a black crescent. So far what I can find on the internet is the red crescent. I was wondering if anyone has ever seen one with a black crescent for this similar model.

Hey @Cooltam, My Dad picked up a Speedmaster Triple Date (red crescent!) and has left it with me as he's wondering if it needs a service. I wound it and set it 24 hrs ago and it has lost 23 seconds. I know these aren't COSC. Is that normal for this movement? How does yours run?

A Speedmaster of unknown history which is losing 23 sec per day is begging for a service, it's way out of spec.

Thanks, I thought as much.
What sort of accuracy should you be getting out of it?
+/-5 or 6s / day?

Mine is running like about 3 seconds off each day.
Nice! Sounds like this one is well overdue a service then. Thanks for the reply
