I am not trying to cast aspersions on the watch, or the owner. Although it's good to see the extract, there remains an element of doubt only in that I have not seen a sales document from Tiffany for a speedmaster. I am trying to word this post carefully because I am genuinely not trying to start a fight or insult anyone's integrity. As I said before I have an interest in establishing that these dials and watches are real. (Although see below for my own personal hiccup in that department).
Here is what I know:
Omega extracts pre 2010 often used information provided by the watch owner.
If the value of a watch depends on information on a pre 2010 then I ask the seller to obtain a reissue of the extract before I buy it.
Tiffany have records, but will not divulge them.
I have yet to see a Tiffany speedmaster with a Tiffany receipt. If Tiffany dials are real, then someone somewhere must have a receipt.
The names on many Speedmasters were added after delivery by the company who retailed them.
I have seen a lot of fake Tiffany dials on rolex and Speedmasters, and so before buying one I would want documents from Tiffany or recent confirmation from Omega.
My own Tiffany dial 105.012 has unfortunately a bad ending. During one of my attempts to find alternatives to STS the dial was lost. Lost! Being asia I assumed it had been stolen, but I am now satisfied it was not. The workshop bought me a very good vintage original 105.012 dial on which they offered to print Tiffany. I obtained an extract from Omega, and while the watch is confirmed delivered to USA there was no mention of Tiffany.
So I declined the offer, and the watch was reassembled as a standard 105.012.
There is more to that story....
