·Just wanted to chime in and say this situation is a great example of really scrutinizing pictures and asking for more pictures with different angles/lighting.

The seller's pic makes the watch look as good as can be, and yours makes it look as bad as can be. But they're of the same watch. If you look closely, you can see the muck on the bezel, the triangle shaped scratches at 8:30, and the horizontal scratches at 5:00. The biggest difference in appearance to me is the index coloration, which appears to be a whitebalance difference. The sellers pic made them look much whiter than yours. Add in all the little dust/small marks that show in your picture, it appears that the seller's picture either had noise reduction applied to eliminate them, or is just poor lighting/resolution.
I think we've all encountered similar situations. I know I have when looking at vehicles to purchase. Pics look great, but the car looks like a wreck in person with lots of small imperfections. It's a risk of buying used online.
