Anyone here get it?

Tiny bit tired, but there was an interesting anomaly

the extract shows it being produced in 1975 - most were made around the same time as Ultraman in late 60’s

sold to a NY buyer for $50,000 plus fees.

anyone here?

A 321 movement produced in 1975? Weird indeed. (typo on EOA?)
but still, 🥰 Love this model

I saw that date and wondered if it could possibly have been correct!

Any thoughts in the 1975 release date on extract?
It’s very late

Finger error? Last parts lying around that someone squeezed out x years later and eventually sold? I guess these were not very popular back then…but who can say…

Sidenote: I find it interesting how every other red/white marker is lumed/not-lumed like the exotic 321 seamasters…

Are there any other examples of a 321 Speedmaster delivered by Omega so many years after the switchover to 861?

It’s interesting. 26,550xxx is towards the very last of the 321’s. As you get to 26,555xxx you’re into the first of the 861’s in 68/69 so I can’t for a second believe that date of 1975 is correct. Equally it can’t be a single typo as 1965 shouldn’t be correct either.

Either it’s a complete error and the wrong data was pulled from the archive or it’s a 321 that was sat on the shelf for 7 years and used in the 70’s (for what it’s worth I don’t for a second believe it’s the latter)

Looks like a typo for me too. Anyway are there estimates for that model? How many of them are around? I guess the real hunt is for a professional one with smaller subs.

Hi all,

Just a suggestion here to doublecheck whether production date is correct..

I have read from time to time that some esteemed members in the forum have connections in Bienne and are able to do a quick search on the archive, the Serial no. is fully legible in the pictures above, maybe someone could drop a line and kindly ask their contacts to confirm production date?

I have just read the thread and thought it quite interesting to see whether a 321 was indeed used in a '75 watch..

Not sure if this is possible at all (as it's not clear to me what informal connections can do at Bienne) but wanted to suggest something that may have not been considered by the members

cheers
Duccio

My guess is that it is a type-o on the extract.
Over the years I've had at least a dozen extracts that came in with errors (mostly production dates) and had to be re-issued.
